It can be easily connect while you are inside the car, can charge somemore.

Try the pioneer or alpine sets. They have wireless carplay. Very nice.

Yes agree, the carplay2air link is chop carrot head. Generic carplay dongle (for Android or WinCE 6.0 headunit) from TB or aliexpress cost around $30-$70. Basically the actual carplay APK is loaded into the headunit via micro SD card, then the dongle is just mirroring and wifi adapter.

I am using one such unit for replacing the factory Galactio offline GPS with Google Maps GPS. Much better GPS for driving around.

Do note such devices will not provide smooth experience like native Carplay in HU and may contain bugs/crashing.
