Expand Agree. Even for android it doesn't update all the time hence defeating the purpose. Solar Turbocharged June 8, 2020 Share June 8, 2020 Need to install this and then that and so troublesome.. why can't they simply enhance the Singpass app and just have to get people that haven't install Singpass app yet, install it. As for bluetooth... simply scrap it.. use wifi/data. Many people by default will have it. Only left with the last group whose no phone, phone can't install or never have data access (you sure have that record who hasn't pingéd a response vs NRIC/NRO) At least this is reduced to a minimum and only give them that device.

Blueray Hypersonic June 8, 2020 Share June 8, 2020 Covid-19 contact tracing device will not be an electronic tag, to be rolled out in June Quote SINGAPORE - The soon-to-be-issued wearable device for contact tracing will not be an "electronic tag" and will not track people's location, said Minister-in-charge of the Smart Nation Initiative Vivian Balakrishnan. Elaborating on the device, which will be called TraceTogether Token, Dr Balakrishnan said its introduction will come at a time when contact tracing becomes all the more vital in Singapore's efforts to battle Covid-19, as the disease's viral load peaks early in the evolution of the disease. This means it spreads more easily to people at the start of the illness. Contact tracing is also important in quickly identifying Covid-19 patients and those they had been in close contact with as activities resume post-circuit breaker. Dafansu Turbocharged June 9, 2020 Share June 9, 2020 (edited) Not sure if this has been shared here, a good reading article to understand more about bluetooth tracking by Privacy International. "Bluetooth is arguably one of the more accurate technologies in terms of proximity identification. It is the least intrusive form of tracking given that it is based on proximity to other phones using the app rather than actual location e.g. GPS or cell tower data." Those who refused to wear it will just have to pay for their own medical expenses (except for testing) and those of their family they infect. You have to be accountable for your own action.
