Agree. Even for android it doesn't update all the time hence defeating the purpose. I'm all for a better tracking option, if its gonna be a device, so be it.

I am just shocked that all these publicity about the app for months and they never mentioned you need it to be in the foreground to work in iOS.

so basically it is not functional for the thousands of people who downloaded it for iOS... unless u you one of the weird person for keep the app active in the foreground.

keep it running in the foreground mean turn on bluetooth all the time and the app is on like this?  they did mention bluetooth have to be on and the icon will show up on your phone.

I googled what it mean about foreground in iOS I found this in Google cache. Seems they removed it though because they are embarrassed??

err.. u can’t even enter lock screen.... duh....

Wow you can think of this, why these people waste so much energy and money on it? Even if they plant it into our body and track, able to determine when virus was passed to another person due to where you have walked or travelled? If virus indeed has passed to another , track the next person who also happen to be at where you have been also, and then the others that have been to those places the next person and so on? Logistically doable and make sense?

Need to install this and then that and so troublesome.. why can't they simply enhance the Singpass app and just have to get people that haven't install Singpass app yet, install it.

As for bluetooth... simply scrap it.. use wifi/data. Many people by default will have it. 

Only left with the last group whose no phone, phone can't install or never have data access (you sure have that record who hasn't pingéd a response vs NRIC/NRO)

At least this is reduced to a minimum and only give them that device.

Err Bluetooth is for the proximity check... wifi/data can not detect proximity 

and Apple refuse to cooperate and allow app to scan Bluetooth in background. 
unless u have a solution we don’t know about, the app is not functional for iOS

"Bluetooth is arguably one of the more accurate technologies in terms of proximity identification. It is the least intrusive form of tracking given that it is based on proximity to other phones using the app rather than actual location e.g. GPS or cell tower data."

... go read up on the issues. its a problem with iOS permission...

just does not work with ANY app, u need to keep your phone unlocked and the app in the foreground for Bluetooth scanning to work.

They only need 90% of people to wear it and you would have reduced contact tracing work by more than 90% and keep the virus under control without having to do CB II.

Those who refused to wear it will just have to pay for their own medical expenses (except for testing) and those of their family they infect.  You have to be accountable for your own action.
