You should have choose Kallang Heights, the price there higher than River Vista since its so near to Kallang MRT.

But how come both sites also for Sims Drive SERS le? Since Kallang Heights TOP in 2006 and River Vista TOP in 2010?

No more good unit left at Kallang Heights already. Maybe those SERS people all like nearer to mrt. No choice. I also dunno why got 2 sites.

# The replacement flats at Bendemeer Road and Upper Boon Keng Road were offered to the flats owners of Sims Drive (S/Nos. 57 and 58).

SERS project for replacement flats can have more than 1 site. But the years difference between that two sites for Sims Drive is 4 years, a bit far. Thought usually they would build the different replacement site around the same time and complete the site plus minus 1-2 years?!

Found info that the Kallang Heights HDB is for SERS in 2001 for Upper Boon Keng Road blk 6, 8, 9, 10 as well as for SERS in 2005 for Sims Drive blk 54, 56, 57, 59, 60 and 62.

The River Vista HDB is for SERS Upper Boon Keng in 2005 for blk 20.

So your ah gong maybe wanted to get a new flat faster that time, so choose the Kallang Heights site. Lol.

Did you check out Dakota Breeze which also just TOP when you checked out Pine Vista? I find Dakota Breeze better than Pine Vista, at least facing some water. Lol.

No lah, just went there to eat :grin:but I did look in that (Breeze) direction.

Some owners might want to keep cash in pocket, sell the house and go stay with children. Or some sell high and then go buy some resale flat lower price and pocket the balance.

Heard a lot of bad stories for those staying with children, better not lah.

Go get a flexi better.

but sometimes estate layout is f*k one

2 block beside pavilion, 1 block beside lrt station, 1 block beside basketball court, 1 block beside temple.

So in a bto scenario, it's which is the perceived most tolerable facility to stay beside.

Can't help it nowadays the HDB flats are built so close-packed. I don't think the designer give a sh*t about layout as long as can fit the required number of blocks in tiny plot of prime land.

For the new HDB estates, when I go use the fitness corner, can look into all the surrounding low-floor units, no thanks to tall ceiling-to-floor glass window panels. View is especially clear HD quality at night [laugh]

Thank goodness i have always bought resale and continue to enjoy good ol' days decent living space. Although LW used to say my unit now should depreciate a lot due to its age and will eventually become 0, but somehow all those real-estate agents' ads seem to suggest the prices going up and up [laugh] nowadays.

Funeral wakes, weddings, parties etc are part and parcel of living in HDB estates.

Some funerals as well as weddings can be very noisy. Funerals mainly are taoists, buddhists or christian rites. Most of them amplify the prayers or singing to a very high level. For weddings, some have live band with DJ in addition to the kumpang challenge. Some ceremonies are longer than others.

Prayer chanting or singing by all means. Just be considerate to the many households around who need peace. Among them may be people who are sick, or waiting for their turn to be at the pavilion, students preparing for exams, people working from home or video conferencing, watching TV, etc.

Imo, prayer chanting and singing need not be amplified. Keep it at a low level.

I have seen some funerals and some weddings which did not cause much disturbance. These are considerate people who respect the residents around there.

There are some uncalled for comments in all media of discussion. It is unfortunate that these people are not able to put themselves in the shoes of those who have been disturbed. It is sad that they have no empathy.🥵

Your house havent reach more than 50 year old or above 60 year old, thats why price still so good. Lol. You see when your house is at least 55 year old and more, price will drop sharply.

Noises from pavilion maybe still not as bad as the noises created from your neighbour staying above your unit la. The noise from you neighbour is daily and even throughout the day.

I am Chinese but this type of wake is like for what? To show filial piety? To show friendship?

Was the dead when he or she was still alive ever walked through the linkway with the arch? "To know the way home"

Does it remind him or her the same condition when now the soul is nearby?

What kind of stupid undertaker suggest such stuff? Follow what Taiwanese funeral are doing?

Maybe in the future they will put up a glowing bouncy castle for young kids to bounce around during the rites 🤦

its all about the $$$.

Funeral Home want to charge extra and the bereaved wanna show off that they have big business dealings.

to each his own.

as with almost all cultures. its major events like weddings and funerals where it is a big show.

Those LED Flower Wreaths can be reuse right? So consider go green by not throwing away like the normal type of flower wreath.

This archway first time i see it, quite creative sia. I think if resident not comfortable to walk thru the archway, can use other route la, i dont think there is only one road to walk lo.

My thought is by all means do whatever the family deems fit, just do not cause inconvenience to others, like
"forcing" people to go through the arc etc.
