QB plate? Now still have such plate?

It is a borneo motors plate. They put it on different demo cars along the years.

Probably some form of trade plate

Nah, not a trade plate in that sense. it used to be a company plate. But the scheme has be discontinued meaning no more different prefix and tax benefits for registration to company.

Usually, owners will change car once AD standard warranty is over, so no worries. Its for the next guy to worry. 😁

I don't understand about Lexus, their dash and ICE screen was leading and innovative in the market few years ago with big screen and full digital dash, but their dash design is stuck for few years already. Those european marques now really overtook them badly with full digital dash and ICE.

IS350 is still with the old school 3.5L V6?

Decent engine in its day but it's wayyyy outdated now. The output can be surpassed by some 2.0L turbo four nowadays.

Cost cutting. Same with UX. Look past the brand and the 40k premium between UX and CX30 is puzzling. And the UX has a much more user friendly infotainment system for me.

Sorry, I meant much less user friendly than CX30.

TRD And Modellista Have Their Way With The 2021 Lexus IS

The facelifted 2021 Lexus IS was unveiled in June and already TRD and Modellista are offering styling upgrades.

Starting with TRD, it has launched a new front splitter that can be finished in black or painted body color. As standard, we think the updated IS looks pretty aggressive, but this new splitter makes it even more striking.

Elsewhere, TRD has designed aerodynamic wing mirror covers, new side skirts, a sports muffler and a custom rear diffuser.

TRD is also offering unique 20-inch forged aluminum wheels alongside a performance damper and new bracing. Those interested in the TRD parts can check them out in the online configurator.

As for Modellista, its parts are a little more subtle. At the front, there are new splitter add-ons that give the car some added style without being as eye-catching as the TRD splitter. Other parts include extended side skirts, a custom body-colored diffuser, a rear lip spoiler and a distinctive set of wheels.

In late September, Lexus confirmed that the 2021 IS will start at $39,000 in the U.S. The rear-wheel drive IS 300 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 241 hp, whereas the all-wheel drive version gets a 260 hp 3.5-liter V6 and the range-topping IS 350 a 3.5-liter V6 pumping out 311 hp.

You can buy the parts from TRD and Modellista.

Alternatively, on the Lexus Japan website, you can add the TRD and Modellista parts as official dealer options when configuring your IS online and buy the car as modified straight from the Japan Lexus dealer:

One interesting thing I noticed from the Lexus jp configurator is that the 20 inch TRD Forged wheels are lighter and cheaper than the BBS 19 inch Forged wheels.

The interior looks dated with minor refresh from the pre-facelift model.  The aircon vents really cmi compared to cars of its class.

Yes it is a rather mixed facelift.

Huge effort on exterior.

No effort on drivetrain

Slight effort on suspension

Minimal effort on interior

Not sure if IS will survive as a model line after 2023, since SUVs are fast eating up all the share of sedan esp in luxury market.

Looks good in real-life?

I saw the new IS300 in white during the sneak peek at Borneo. Looks really good in the flesh. Now waiting to see the IS350 F-Sport in real life.

Had a very short test drive in the non-FSport IS300, with the standard shock absorbers(not adaptive variable).

The way it handles speed bumps is astoundingly good, better than my AVS equipped GS450h. Also the way Lexus tuned the 2L turbo, I did not experience any turbo lag unlike the S60 T5 I also test drove.

One thing I am unhappy with my Lexus salesperson is that he did not allow me to drive 99 curves to better assess the handling and steering of the facelift 2021 Lexus IS. For that reason alone, if I do buy the new 2021 IS, I won't be buying through him.

They have planned routes to follow.
