Did you all read the 1st post or not??:wut:

This thread is about engine downsizing strategy of Merceds-Benz, where I specifically mention 3 models using the same 1.5L engine...

  1. C160
  2. E180
  3. CLS260

For those that don't know what is going on, go and read the 1st post again...:we-all-gonna-die:

you missed out the original

W205 Face Lift C200 1.5 mild hybrid (as per MB FB Q&A confirmed)

8.6 Secs is in Lab test, real Life,in our hot Country, will be 10 Secs...

most diesel taxis like the sonata can easier do 8 sec and outgun most cars.

1.5T cannot do 8 secs must be either the driver want to save fuel or always jack rabbit type.

Actually diesel runs out of puff at like 60 to 70 kmph, iirc.

So though their pick up at traffic lights are awesome, they still have longer 0 to 100 timing.

I always drive my fren Triton pickup.  It doesn't run out of puff till 120km/h.

Hmm...maybe I guess, I dont really have a diesel car (those 1.6) at my disposal.

The turbodiesel Hilux 3.0 that I had a chance to drove was really powerful, but maybe it was as in your case too, is a big displacement engine.

Time to molest...

And the sad thing is that this is all for 'Paper emissions' which is achievable on a mint car using whatever cycle the test requires.

In the real world and after wear and tear, I believe the real emissions differ quite a bit.

I mean, look at stop start tech, you save 1mpg on paper but if your battery/starter up lorry 25% faster, there goes your savings and of course the carbon footprint of manufacturing those parts offsets whatever fuel saved too.

Ah...ok. Is it the new Triton?

I meant that the engines of both should be about there, in the range of 2-3L.

Likely the case

I saw the 1.5L E180 being listed in sgcarmart just last month.

Probably discontinued as the price difference with the 2.0L E200 is marginal.
