Our battalion did the 16km route march on this route !

I was from Seletar Camp.

BMT Nee Soon Camp during the 1990s 16km route march walk all the way to Yishun Dam and back via Yishun Ave 1. Miss those days.

I have been going there every week to run my r/c boats and watched the changes of this Seletar Club Road changed over the years.

In the late 90's, weekends doing fishing & crabing there (sea) .... 🐟

A lot of 'kim bak lor' and tambang fishes. At the mangroves area, a lot of mud crabs but also to beware of sea snakes 🐍 ... [sweatdrop]

It used to be a very unique road to drive along. Relaxing, quiet and cool. Even the estate around the Seletar Airport was a cool place to drive around. The place just feels special then. But too bad, it's been developed. Singapore has lost many of such wonderful and serene places.

Even Jalan Kayu was a nice place to drive before the Seletar Aerospace industry and the nearby housing estate was up.

Having a meal in Jalan Kayu last time was like time travel back to 70s or 80s .

Never been to old tampines road, so where is this road lead to?

I only know the yishun dam area, many people will go there for gathering , fishing and pak tor.

It connects hougang to tampines. The road is famous to be haunted and have a few temples out of nowhere. Not as happening as yishun dam. haha.

back to Seletar, saw another clip (2009 one!) on how to drive to Sunset Grill & Pub 🤓

remember quite popular even though it was super ulu, deep inside Seletar

i've been there twice... the spicy buffalo wings were a torture!! (i think we ordered level 6 or 7 in spiceness)

all these were gone already

For those that also ride bicycle (especially group riding at night) this is a familiar route connecting east (Jalan Kayu) to north (Yishun).

Can be quite spooky at night, if you are riding a bicycle alone.

Maybe nee soon camp is not those highly security camp? So nothing much to see inside the camp? But you see even like ministry of home affairs, this place is quite highly secure outside and yet the surrounding also have many tall building of condo.
