My first car was a blue 1L manual Nissan March with 60hp. Fond memories...

I was secretly in love with the Nissan March many years back. A client had one for about 10k odd for about a year or two COE left and I was just a little tempted. Cute eh.

I also think the best thing to put in a Myvi is

a PHD 2200 amplifier.  Pristine Italian sounds that can also really rock.

After that all you need is some techno music, strobe lights that changes according to the beat for your MIL. Heard it'll be good for her hearing.

Im curious. How much would one pay for a Myvi in Singapore? 50k otr?

The Myvi in Singapore cost four to five times more than in Malaysia. I think many may find it hard to swallow even at 50k. Hahaha.

Price of MYVI in Spore is the same as in Malaysia if you remove the Additional Registration Fee (100% of OMV for cars up to $20K OMV), excise Duty (20% of OMV) and COE

By popular demand. See what Julian, Jon, and Idris picked for their Top 5 cars for the first time driver or buyer and let us know if you agree or disagree with them.

Actually, that seems like quite a rich taste for a new driver by suggesting 90+k cars, which many only buy when they buy their second car and so on.

I thought that the max should be like 70+k with Cerato at the max...how times have changed.😮

For a newbie, I would suggest Honda Fit (approx 60k) / Mitsubishi Attrage (lowest at 51999).

You cant have bragging rights with them, but they would keep you happy with ease of maintainence and of course, low FC.

If not, the Mz2 is a decent choice (skip the sedan).

Only AD cars were being considered for that video. Haha.

I think choices were for the mass market consumers. More relatable for the majority, maybe?

Your first car can tell whether you are single or not.

If you are a family person of course you go for the practical stuff that comes with the car. Most of your budget goes to family so you look for cars that are boring but reliable.

If you are single and at most have one gf you buy those small hatchbacks. Since you dont have kids you have more spending power and can afford to own your first "conti".

From the bideo it's kinda obvious who is who.

Good n interesting video with wide range of cars covered, well done👍

Just wondering why the Nissan Note was not mentioned. Seems it’s going for around $60k now. Admittedly not everyone’s cup of tea but personally I think it’s a good first time buyer car. MIJ some more but downside is that it’s long in the tooth as it’s been around for awhile now.

Agree with you.

I had in mind the Honda Jazz, Nissan Note and Perodua MYVI for hatch, and for saloons, the Mitsubishi Attrage, Kia Cerato, Hyundai Avante, Perodua Bezza and the Seat Toledo (promo at $71K) if the first time buyer insists on a conti.

Easy to drive, ease of maintenance and a spacious interior (for those with families) are the key criterias.

Cannot compare sg cars price with msia car price la. Even those jap cars also cost so much cheaper in msia than sg.

I remember there was one period when msia cars were quite popular in sg le, saw many saga and wira running on the road. That time how much was those saga and wira in sg as compared in msia?
