Toeknee_33 Turbocharged May 19, 2020 Share May 19, 2020 (edited) I am thinking a small lux SUV might appeal to older folks whose children have already flown the nest. You just need a car for 2 and an occasional pax, with a slightly raised ride height that is easy to get in and out as you age, small and easy to drive to the mall as your judgement wanes, with no need for high performance or sporty handling, and with a modicum of prestige to carry them into retirement. It might just work. Edited May 19, 2020 by Toeknee_33 ↡ Advertisement

Don't know what toyota is thinking. this will kill Raize. No wonder BM will bring in this one...PI better clear their Raize stock fast. Agreed, only thing going for Raize is the turbo engine, Yaris Cross is Hybrid or 1.5 NA. Well Raize is designed primarily as a Daihatsu model (and a Perodua derived model in future) but then they choose to rebadge for a Toyota version. 🤷♂️️ Edited July 24, 2020 by Thecarboy302

Turbo torque comes earlier.

Maybe they thought any CUV can mark up higher price? lol

They are different model altogether which can have their own taker and can coexist at different pricing point (AD model always more ex).

Why? under its lineup, the top end is Rav 4(130k), then CHR(100k), then Corolla Cross( not sure, estimate 90k? ), last Yaris Cross (80k? )... If not then, how to sell? Toyota crossover line getting confusing.... I see that BM no longer keen to bring in C-HR? No sign of facelift model, even PIs not bringing in liao. Zxcvb Turbocharged August 3, 2020 Share August 3, 2020 There's also the Thailand Toyota Yaris Cross which is base on the Vios/Ativ.

Pls see here bro. I believe BM will bring in the Yaris Cross from Thailand since its just a Vios with a chopped off boot. Its a much simpler car so its easier to sell. And a lazy effort from Toyota too. It's literally the asian Yaris on jacked-up suspension with black plastic trims and faux bashguards. At least the Thai model in this ad doesn't look too bad. Zxcvb Turbocharged August 12, 2020 Share August 12, 2020 Please go pressure Borneo Motors and Toyota Motors Asia Pacific to bring in the Japanese version. Even Toyota Australia is bringing in the Jepun version. Say NO to Vios/Yaris/Thai Cross!!!
Dadiao 1st Gear August 12, 2020 Share August 12, 2020 hmm ... according to trend, so far popular crossovers in Japan tend to overflow into SG, hope that this trend continues ... and we will see this model too !

Esp the lower end ones? They are nothing more than standard hatchbacks with jacked up suspension and bigger wheels. See GLA, Polo Cross among others Lazy or not, Toyota sells by the badge. This is why POS eg Avanza can still sell in this part of the world despite its prehistoric chassis and drivetrain

KM was forced to scrap the Thai version and bring in japan version. So far, only Harrier. That is likely due to volume from Sg and Msia. ↡ Advertisement
