Of course if this prolongs then different story but they shld be able to ride out a few mths without opening. ↡ Advertisement

I doubt both have zero cases. It is a matter of how many employees you have. 1fast1 Supersonic April 19, 2020 Share April 19, 2020 Ok, whether this was a voluntary move by Mac or not, I'm happy as long as they're paying their employees during their furlough. Now, if this was prompted by a blooming cluster that's not yet been reported, there's more to be done by the government. The same risk factors operating with Macs apply to other fast food operators and potentially, all food prep and delivery organisations still considered essential. So an honest reckoning of how the spread happened and guidelines to prevent new clusters at other places should be publicised. Simply: what went wrong and how to we prevent it recurring? And it should be publicised rather than just being handled quietly with the food operators behind closed doors. This is because the public has a right to know what's going on with every aspect of this crisis, both because we're all deeply vested in this and also because members of the public who patronised the affected services may want to assess their own risk of exposure (which will save the contact tracers some time and trouble if they come forward). As an example of the latter, if the cluster wasn't just localised to the location but also involved one or more generic delivery riders, then even someone who ordered from another food outlet may potentially be at risk from contact with that set of delivery riders. Even if they're just precautions to be taken by in-house employees, the public are a useful extra set of eyes to monitor compliance and remind the staff to follow guidelines if they're in breach. Ego shouldn't enter into the equation: at hospitals, we encourage patients to ask doctors and nurses if they've washed their hands before touching them as infection control is everyone's responsibility. Same deal here. And, finally, some slightly out of the box thinking may be called for if delivery services were impacted / implicated - what about delivery drones? Given the much emptier state of the roads etc., is it possible to use drones to effect food (and other - e.g. mail and small parcel) deliveries safely?

I don't doubt their CSR , but as a business entity they are also not doing charity. Employing senior citizens have the benefit of wage offsets given back to them by gov. and that helps in the company bottomline. The older the staff, the more the wage offsets. There are also other perks which I cannot remember now but there are monetary benefits that helps towards the bottom line when they employ senior citizens. Boss, should be paid leave as the government is paying part of the salaries, plus depending on the type of insurance , they are getting, the insurance companies will be paying for the loss of sales during this period. I be paying in full to all our employees during this period till end of the year so their families wont be affected in anyway. It's easy to beat this virus but very hard to get back good employees ps, it pays to have a huge percentage of singaporeans core in your company 🤣🤣🤣 Edited April 19, 2020 by Staff69
