Toyota still the best seller in the region. The Millions who buy are still voting with their wallets

In other countries where the cars manufactured in their own countries, example Thailand and taiwan. Their cars r priced very competitive and pack with features, Korea cars n other Jap brands r imported jap n sometimes it's more ex than toyota

Even if Toyota is the top seller in the universe, this also cannot change the fact bm priced their cars illogically.

Anyway my username is kia7200 doesn't mean I drive a Kia. But if this is Ur logic to assume my ride, then I gonna change my username to Ferrari7200

Similar question I asked them

Why BM selling 2l turbo mij harrier cheaper than a 2l na mit camry. One of the TL defended BM by saying pi mecrz is cheaper than AD mecrz because blah blah blah.

Sometimes I really vomit blood talking to them

the harrier and rav4 are bm's volume product while the camry is their niche product lineup. Hence no need for aggressive pricing for the camry.

Camry was a very popular model.

As popular as Altis n Vios during those days. And I find the new FL much better looking and I did saw quite a few OTR

There r still huge demand for mid sedan cars, just take a look at mz6

So I don't think it's a niche product. More like bm don't give a damn

For $130k-$140k, a Skoda Kodiaq or Seat Tarraco maybe a better option. They have more features, drive better than the new Harrier and cheaper road tax/petrol consumption.

Not sure y u suddenly mentioned Kia?

I do see Renault used as taxi

I also see Opel used as phv

So those brands r reliable? And maybe this is how u define reliability?

isnt silvercab using Kia as taxi? those phv/taxi companies sure do enough research before they deciding a brand to use, u dont invest/just dump money in without doing your homework.

Not sure about that. Opel and Skoda weren’t Particularly successful as cabs here if I recall.

Skoda were successful as taxi in europe

here not successful probably lose the tender to bid

So Borneo will bring Turbo Harrier to kill PI again?

No more Turbo

Previously, Harrier was brought in likely due to combined volume with Malaysia.  Malaysia has 12 mths waiting list for Harrier.

Now, not sure.  Malaysia just launched RAV4.  Under current economic environment, unsure about Harrier.

No turbo can or not this new Harrier? Last time the complaints from buyers of PI Harrier was the lack of power. When BM brought in the turbo version, all the NA Harrier owners were regretting like crazy!

This Generation only got 2.0 & 2.5 NA.  Both are Dynamic Force Engine.

New 2L engine has 30 more horses

Maybe this Dynamic Force engine is more capable and powerful than the old engine? Although you might notice in the Vincar ad, its described as "adequate shove", instead of scintillating performance.

In this video, the reviewer was singing praises of this engine in the Lexus UX.

Harrier is about 100kg heavier than UX.  Maybe barely enough for Harrier

Been driving 2.5 dynamic force motor for a few weeks.  Lacking in torque so 8 speed auto keeps changing gears. Leads to jerkiness and engine noise. Also at Low revs engine sounds a bit like a diesel.  UX 200 similar, but cvt means no obvious gear changes. UX 250h powertrain is very refined compared to both.
