Spending time growing own taugay.

Started last night with 1 change of water this morning. Supposed to change water 2x daily. Looking forward to having a dish of taugay with salted fish in 5-6 days time 😁

Most of the staff had to bring their biggest travel luggage to bring home the office computer.  Plus monitor if they only have laptop at home.  Lucky not the crt type monitor!

Now that you say like this I saw well dressed man lugging a big trolley bag ( bigger than cabin bag) into a bus a few days back , must be your colleague .... earlier I tot he might be going to airport

Working from home, I realized I end up putting in more hours than when I used to commute to office. Why leh?

- Turn on laptop every morning on the dot & pick up where I left off last night. Previously, still have time to walk to toilet, wash cup in the pantry, get my drink.

- 30 min pop over to have quick lunch. Used to be a 2 hr lunch break at the office. I had to remind myself to walk over to kitchen for a cup of water regularly.

- Now there's no chance for a face-to-face chat with colleagues. It's frustrating when the zoom connection is iffy & I had to keep retrying to join meeting.

- Previously, if my office phone rings after I knocked off, these people will call the next morning. Now they call my mobile regardless of the time of day.

- It's work all the way till the sky outside turns dark.

Sigh, my boss will probably not appreciate the extra work....Yet, I enjoy and cherish the extra time I have with my family.

Need to set some personal rules and communicate them. No more work channel after usual knock-off time, and none on weekend and public holiday too unless super urgent.

In this day and age there are still people who are uncomfortable with sharing their personal mobile numbers, so need to account for this too.

Family? After 2 months, I think many will be raring to dash back to office [laugh]

What I appreciate about the odd hours of WFH is that I can choose to do "grunt" personal work (don't need others' input) at optimal time - I am a late-night owl. Told my colleagues any meeting in the morning need to start only at 10 am or later [laugh]

Then that's some time available also to pick up on hobbies and personal interests. Look at other opportunities beyond the job. Brush up c.v. etc.

Not all companies want to buy laptop for their lowest level staff especially when huge monitor is required for data entry.
