Totally agree... what a pity... but with sedans not as popular as SUVs and with the fantastic new tech in the Sonata, prices are going to be close to $160K levels... no one will buy it... even when my Sonata was $123,999 list price with a $46K COE 4 years ago, I only see a handful of Sonatas - mostly basic models and bought before mine cos a COE crash send the price down to $102,999 for the basic model... even at $112,999 for the top model, panoramic sunroof, blindspot monitor, etc then, which were all attractive then, very few people bit and so you have a model which probably moved less than a 100 cars in it's life span... so I really don't expect the Sonata to make it here again... such a pity...

Yup, the market speaks for itself. Even with such a strong value proposition of the LF Sonata still fail to punch through badge perception locally says a lot. Still need more years but by the time people see Hyundais as Samsungs will also be the day no more such super-value for money products liao.

thats why Skoda can sell better than Hyundai for this category...

if sonata for 100k, i sure buy also.

Basic model my time was $102,999 still not many takers... right now, highly doubt you'll get this current model for anything less than $140,000...

Sad but true...

sonata drop in with stinger 2.0 turbo, full suite of luxury touch and active safety system.

make in Korea and price same as per Skoda.

then I think got chance to win back 20% order from skoda.

the rest i believes may still prefer skoda "conti" badge as choice.

Yup. A fully loaded LF Sonata (comparable in feature, but not the engine, to the L&K version) is even cheaper than a base Superb by about 10% and yet still cannot outsell it. Not to mention perennial crowd favorites in the likes of Mazda 6, Camry and Accord.

It is not a Hybrid car.

Yes, VES rebates stands at 10k. Rated FC is 5.4L/100km which is about 18.5km/l if my maths is right.

Noted and thanks.

Its a pity that the Sonata wont make its way here. It is a good contender to the Toyota Camry honestly.

My SE told me there were talks to bring in the high spec Sonata in last year. But, I think this didnt went through well.

But Bolehland will get it soon... Once again, see who is laughing at who... :(

Premium brands got an image to preserve mah... so prices cannot be cheap, brand cannot be perceived as 'horrors'... value for money... hahaha... so sneaky overtrades help to preserve the pricing image...

And also “special price only for you sir” . Please don’t tell others, nonsense.
unless you buy a car from them every other year, doubt you will get special prices. Those who really get special prices won’t come to MCF to ask questions about pricing.
if people want to feel good thinking they got a steal, then so be it. Haha

But Borneo Motors & Kah Motors still carry the Camry & Accord respectively... might be what their Principals require since those are iconic models that are part of their DNA... although to be fair Komoco still carries the Santa Fe which almost nobody buys since it's priced close to $160K with a 2.4 L engine that attracts super high road tax that only those with deep pockets don't bother about...

Accord was absent for quite a while before they launched this new 1.5L turbo version.

Ventilated seats right? Not Heated seats I believe. This feature was available in the outgoing Avante Elite version for the first few batches but subsequently removed.
