myfoot2024 1st Gear June 28 Share June 28 (edited) CN7 (2021 Petrol S), gurus, I have been driving my CN7 S since mid May 2024. It is a pre-owned unit of mid 2021 with 35000km of mileage by the 1st owner. The last Komoco warranty service was done by the 1st owner just back in March 2024. I would like to know what are the basic checks needed as an owner after opening up the engine cover? Where is the wiper water tank for me to fill up the water? and etc? What else I need to check regularly or weekly for the engine compartment? Any basic guide? Many thanks in advance. About 3 yrs old car, nothing much to check really if you send in for regular maintenance. When you open up the bonnet, standing facing the car, to the left near the headlight, there is a white plastic container with a blue cap, that is your wiper water tank. Take note to use just water and don't add any windshield cleaner, those chemicals will eventually choke the spray nozzle, and you going to have a hard time cleaning them. Enjoy!
myfoot2024 1st Gear July 5 Share July 5 (edited) @Tianmo I see. Okay. My next scheduled checks is due on 23rd September 2024. Ya! I just top up the wiper tank 2 days ago! However, it seems that the water depleted very fast even though I hardly use the wiper water. Edited July 5 by myfoot2024

The neck of the tank is actually quite narrow, and since it is near the engine bay, which can get real hot, water evaporate is unavoidable. Most times you might not see any water into the neck of the tank, but the tank body is actually quite big. I usually fill up about 3-4L after about 6-7 uses or 3-4 weeks. if you dont see water water into the neck of the tank after 2 days since filling up, go fill up again and see how much it can take, about 500ml is normal, and leave a little gap for the air in the water to expand when heated up by the engine.

Don't need to check weekly lar... just service every 10,000 km for oil change (use synthetic oil)... get the mechanic to check your brakes & pads, and engine top each time... your car so new, unlikely will have engine leaks... Again read the manual for the servicing intervals... most of the stuff like automatic gearbox transmission fluid don't have change for the lifetime of the car's COE... at least 100,000-120,000 km... I think if you don't want to bother to monitor yourself just send car back to Komoco lor... they'll sort it out for you... just have to pay more lor... you're paying for the care instead of you doing it... My car have been using the windshield cleaners... and truly the spray nozzle get choked... I just changed my right side nozzle and my left one is now choked... but I like the cleaner cos it leaves the windscreen very clean... a bit of a dilemma... would be good if got any brand that won't choke the nozzles...

I think don't need to buy... just use the provided tire repair kit? But if you must have one, you can drop by any tire shop and ask to buy a secondhand rim + tire that is the exact same size as those you're using... preferably can get secondhand Avante rims that are the same as what you have lor... unfortunately nowadays manufacturers prefer to supply repair kits rather than spare rim & tire cos it's cheaper and lighter... and some makes don't even have the spare tire wheel well...

I spent 30 min each day for 3 days in a row to flush the tank, repeated for 3 weeks, and finally cleared, now spraying like a 18 yrs old young man. coat the windscreen with a layer of water ceramic coating, and spray it more often, clean as new each time and every time. I dont think there is any brand that will not choke. As long as the solution is kept in the tank for too long, it will coat the side wall of the tank, and once it breaks away, it flows to the nozzles. Lol. $180k, there are many options if willing to top up 10-20K, but this avante hybrid is almost double the price of its Ice brother, who willing to change?

I only use the cheapest windscreen washer fluid from Esso petrol station... I think $2.40 per bottle and then top up the entire washer tank with water... should be dilute enough right? I didn't think that the fluid accumulates on the walls of the tank and breaks down to clog the nozzle... interesting... Eh spend 30 min flushing the tank means what? You press the wiper stalk to spray water until it unclog ah? My left side suddenly unclog 2-3 days back but today back to a weak spray again... if keep spraying for 30 min uninterrupted, will the water pump for the spray fail instead? Due to overheating? Ha ha ha... spray for 30 min = empty the entire tank ah? ↡ Advertisement
