So Hyundai is trying a Mazda 3...

Well let's see if it pays off, especially since it's basically the same power output..

At 90-100k, there are many Conti choices with turbo engines, plus the ubiquitous Corolla and of course the Mazda 3..

Either they are super confident or it's game over for the low priced VFM car...

So many options and it's a economic downturn... nuts...

PI Elantra anyone 😉

I didn't say sedans, but here are some turbo choices:

i30 (Hungarian)

Suzuki Vitara (Hungarian)

VW Polo

and the ones you mentioned: Skoda and Seat..

Plus, there are a few more PI version of popular cars like the Vezel and other MPV / SUVs within that 90-100k price range which will be perceived as more VFM. NA / turbo.

Buyers tend to be price sensitive, so the body type is less important compared to the right pricing..

Lol bro how is i30 and vitara conti? They are kimchi and sushi although made in hungary. polo ain't a sedan so technically only octavia & toledo. Volvo belongs to Geely which is China but that doesnt mean they are cheena cars.

Toledo is crap but octy is a skoda, nice car though no doubt.

Sucky thing is that i think there is some agreement with the korean makers and its not easy to get PI kimchi cars, i rmb someone mentioned before thats why KMC is the sole distributor in SG.

Profit margin wise i think its not that juicy for PIs to bring in either. I guess main selling point is the high amount of safety features in the new avante, thats about it.

1.6L for all 3 variants. IVT

I can't remember the equipment trim exactly because they cannot release the specification officially yet.

Low - Basic without much safety features

Mid - Added safety features like front collision detector

Top - Led head lamp + sun roof + fully safety features, like smart cruise control

Would love to check out the actual car when it is here and see if it really justify the selling price. I watched the Korean reviews and it seems the exterior fit and finish gap of panels are bigger than current AND the door panels' armrest are hard plastics instead of soft touches. All sounded like a step backwards. Looking forward to see the car myself to confirm.

my elantra also hard touch plastics. not many soft touch lah.

What I meant is past Elantras, Avantes, their door panel armrests are soft touch ones. From the Korean reviews, the CN7 Avante seems to use hard plastics for the door panel armrests, which to me is a step backwards. As for BnB cars, it is understandable that there will be many hard plastics at areas that are less contact with the body.

By right for any AD when they are launching a brand new model, they should have promo and discount for the outgoing model to clear stock la.

The old stock already sold out long ago, they might have even oversold some of the older stock - pre cb. Thats why some buyers were asked to either top up or forfeit the deal, after CB some ppl still signed but at a higher price so naturally kmc will want to sell to the ones who paid a higher price than those pre cb.
