don't know whether the 1.6NA would get DCT gearbox?

Very unlikely, the DCT is typically paired with turbocharged hyundai/kia engine options only.

The new Elantra looks good. The following YouTube video is a very good introductory video by Car TV. Wonder what trims will we getting in SG though

Variants* I meant. I doubt hybrid is coming? Since it will compete with Ioniq directly

The 1.6NA will be paired with CVT which is chain driven and not belt driven. Reviews have praised alot on KIA/Hyundai CVT which is said to be very close to normal geared automatics. Actually the Venue already has this engine and CVT paired up.

always people say how lousy CVT is.. Subaru also chain driven CVT received negative comment here as well.

and since here many say DCT is EXTREMELY GOOD, I think Hyundai should match with DCT for 1.6NA as well..

otherwise some that don't accept CVT no option in market already..

I will prefer CVT over DCT especially Hyundai one is dry setup. Not sure how both Hyundai's CVT and DCT will fare in terms of long term reliability though. But DCT definitely will give a more spirited performance than the CVT since is direct like manual. The NA only paired it with either a 6 speed manual (won't be even an option here I guess) or a CVT. Only the turbo is a DCT. I think if want DCT will have to go with the upcoming 1.0 turbo i30.

Sneak preview coming up soon at Komoco.

But the key downside is the price ;  it's not going to be low Korean pricing - starting from above $90,000 at current COE level.

Priced very near Mazda 3 and Toyota Altis territory & more expensive than the Nissan Sylphy.

At such price, the new CN7 will not see the high volume sales that the current Avante enjoys and can expect dismay sales in the current economic downturn. The only saving grace would be  a high OMV (hopefully)  that would cushion the exponential depreciation.

The new CN7 is 3 cm longer, 2.5cm wider and 3cm lower in height than the   current Avante.

The current Avante's rear headroom is already very low due to its sloping roof. The new CN7 rear headoom will suffer badly.

Waaa even with VES rebate still above 90k then it’s actually more expensive than Altis as Altis does not has rebate. I wonder what’s the new Avante OMV...

No diff lar... just less rubberband feeling but the irritating drone is still there... but it is very effective for good fuel consumption... and the Hyundai version is called IVT...

Priced like a civic, looks like one and as low slung?

Mazda and Toyota will be happy... even the conti brands will be smiling...

Those who want a simple analogue car will look for the Corolla again.. or even the vios

Price will come down eventually... the opening launch price always high for new models... just wait patiently for the 2nd year... just before the face-lift and the price will drop to push the sales up before the face-lift comes about...

Might not sound politically correct in a Korean thread but I rather go for the Civic. At least, demand and  resale value are guaranteed.

How you know there will be rebates? If I am not wrong, both previous Elantra and current Avante are both 0 VES. I used to own the previous Elantra. 50k COE Elantra elite at 100k plus.
