Because helmet are not really design to stop bullet and less so for sniper bullet which usually are more powerful.

they are typically positioned out of range of small arms weapons. Helmet will not stop bullet fm enemy sniper. They may bring helmet for protection against enemy arty.

Been going on 5 hours already. Shots fired into the air, nobody yet hurt. Area closed and shooter's family trying to talk him down.

Agree. With social media these days, you can't stop information from being disseminated online. A disclaimer or a spoiler alert for MCF case should suffice. Though usually I refrain from posting gore images or videos out of respect for the victims and their families, especially aftermath of accidents. But other than that, no right or wrong.
