I still don't quite understand why people stock up toilet paper?

Maybe due to their source of toilet paper is from china?

Maybe partly due to business bad, or maybe also they want to shorten the exposure risk for their staff? Go home earlier to rest.

Whatever it is it must be fear causing panic buying. Whether it's mask shortage or toilet paper shortage it's the panic buying causing the shortage. With added rumours here and there, no need to bother to go find anymore. Sure dont have stock.

These ppl never for once stop and think. If they really kenna the virus where will all their hoarded toilet paper and mask go? They and their family will be haul up to the isolation center. What will happen to their stock of mask and toilet paper? They had hand contact with these items. It will just go to waste.

Me thinks the whole world will come to a standstill (temporary though) as all the part mfg have slowed down and locally they can't get supplies/workers from migrant villages still on sidelines ; add that to port congestion (empty ships) in China ports (so ships coming in/out have problems I was told) even the big auto makers brands are going to be affected with the Chain Supply is going to feel  the toll in a couple of weeks; as chip makers are going bonkers also;  Even here in Sg the local wet market tofu seller say no supply of Chin Chow becos of China disruption

Lai, faster buy and export toilet paper to HK.😂

Shortage until rob toilet paper is no joke

Apologies. The video didn't load properly in the previous post.

Anyway Hong Kong-ers are still fighting over toilet paper up to today.

No chance for the stores to restock at all. The toilet papers are snatched off the pallets even before they reach the shelves.

Bro ..... in the last 10-11 years a lot of things have changed and the “factory of the world “ literally holds the consumers at ransom ( be it a HP to even a  European made car )  or consumer product ...... literally we are at their mercy until unless other factories in Thailand/Taiwan/India  can compete and produce the same ..... prices will hike for sure

more than 10 years ago, many factories were already trying to diversify out of china, but those other countries just could not catch up. And as china manufacturing continue to grew, the supply chain  makes it even harder to not produce in china as far as quality and speed is concern.

Hopefully things might change, but it will take alot of will powder and acceptance to do it. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

now that many countries said “re-setup” their factory lines to make mask, gown, medical required stuff like sanitizer, alcohol swab, etc

after awhile ... when demand slowdown ... these factories will collapse ...

and we all know that these companies are taking govt grant to beef up their production and what’s not

it’s simply short term business opportunity including “under table” ... huat ah!

I think many of these factories are first trying to help themselves. Because the law now is no mask cannot start work, but if they are producing mask, they might just get away with the restriction.

So the mask production might be partly internal use, and rest for gov use. Otherwise no way they can start work on your core business, and getting mask from other supplies is almost impossible.

This one is just 过度 only, unless they find that mask business is profitable, otherwise when things get over, likely they will also shut it down. However they will still keep the machines in case of emergency i think.[laugh][laugh][laugh]
