I was mentioned in this thread by our glorious mod and friend Carbon..

Initially I wanted to say that I have been posting and he was wrong, yet, after checking back, indeed, I've posted less and less...

I run the risk of offending the seniors and mods, but yep, the forum that gave me friends, advice and even rewards has become less appealing to post. Some of the reasons have been mentioned before:

 

- the new format is harder to use and navigate, and despite the good intentions of seniors, it has not been appealing enough

- the unread posts is harder to find and like others, I've found it to be empty when I deploy that function on my phone and after a few attempts, I give up

- the scrolling ads and the video ads are another big deterrent

- losing the ability to edit posts after 15min is also not good

- some members have also been rather irksome and their posts are just troll posts

Sure the forum is free, but I am also free to choose what to do with my time and sometimes, I go elsewhere, even though this forum has been instrumental in helping me get a good car choice, learn a lot about cars and most importantly, get good fellowship

 

I hope to continue my participation, but some days, I really don't stay as long as I want to... sorry all and a blessed Christmas and thank you everyone who has helped me

1. when MCF is "invaded" by gaming / betting posts

2. proliferation of non-SG new accounts who create posts with links to their websites or youtube channels just to garnet hits or viewerships, zero contribution to MCF.
