I find civic too low for me.  Hard to get in and out and when inside, it feels very low and near the road.  So not sure why people like civic unless they like to drive fast (like sports car).

But yes, city seems over priced.

Surprise that new city is over priced. Even you see the new altis, BM also never over priced? Lol.

My exact thoughts as well. Civic too low n I believe that’s the reason why its rear is not flat floor anymore. A real pity.

For this ridiculous price, why would anyone even buy it? Makes more sense to buy the civic at 90+k.

Well the Civic has only 2 airbags whilst the City has 4 or 6 depending on the model u choose. But yes I agree Civic is supposedly a notch above City so to price City so near Civic is strange, lack of airbags notwithstanding.

Think civic since 2006 already low right? This civic really low, if not it would be a popular car.

The FD was the last MIJ Civic n with flat floor. An almost perfect car for family with good handling, reasonable FC n good resale value.

The model after that became MIT n was not well received for various reasons, I don’t remember it was that low. Then came this current model which was ok but too low n with the loss of the rear flat floor, it stopped being the desirable, benchmark family car in my opinion. So it’s this model which started this low trend. I’m not sure if the City is low or not?

I owned the FD previously n my brother also owned the FD as well n now drives the current generation Civic. We both feel that the current generation Civic is much lower than the FD n as I mentioned before, the absence of the rear flat floor vindicates this belief that this car is so low that it is unable to accommodate the rear flat floor which was a major selling point in previous Civics.

I will leave it to Civic owners to support my theory or debunk it.

I think for b&b cars, if the car is too low, it might not be popular cause getting in and out is not easy as those cars are cater more to family.

My family currently has a FD4, was at Honda showroom to take a look and sat inside and my first reaction how much lower the current Civic feels compared to our FD. The exterior height of the current Civic is also shorter than the FD which plays a part I guess.

Nothing wrong with car being low as it has its plus points as well like fast cornering n sticking to the tarmac but for the general car buying public who needs car for various reasons like transporting of family esp older folks, being low is a minus as it’s a tough ask to ask old folks to come out of the car from a low height.

In short, to each his own. I’m a family man who is not young anymore n I need to ferry my in laws n my mum. The FD gave me great versatility in this aspect n the flat rear floor is a real boon n whilst it’s height is not SUV standards, it’s definitely on par with most saloons n higher than the current generation.

This current generation Civic has gone from being a family car (FD) to leaning towards sporty bias with low stance, better handling. Honda will win over some enthusiasts but they will also lose some who prefer neutral bias.

Apologies for the distraction of this thread from City to Civic. Let’s continue discussion on City. Wonder if the car is also as low as Civic n I suppose we need to test drive to feel the difference between this new model vs the old as aesthetically n on paper not much diff.
