Maybe for some honda cars, the number of airbags still have not catch up? Think shuttle also comes with 2 airbags.

Is not Honda, is KahMotor, sacrificing safety for profit margins.

Don't blame Kah Motor, it is the tax structure, C & E, GST, ARF etc

I know local AD can remove some items to reduce the OMV n hence increase profit margins  but I don’t think u can indent with reduce airbags as they shld be standard?

That’s what that bro says but another bro says got side airbags so I’m not sure.

Frankly, in this day n age, 6 airbags are a minimum. Vios has 7 whilst even an entry level car like Attrage has 6 as well so no excuses but let’s find out officially before knocking them.

But at just $1k less than the Civic, this is one tough sell.

I believe if other brands can bring in more airbags at similar pricing, then is not just because of the tax structure. Is that other brands choose to bring in lesser features as compared to safety. So maybe KM  is not sacrificing it for margins, but definitely not placing safety as priority.

The current gen City in Malaysia has more airbags than SG model. I believe indent lesser airbags is no issue.

Sorry..my bad..missed front side airbags..by the way, i still think 7 airbags should be standard now since base variant vios can offer..i initially put city in my shortlist too but need to take away now..

Does our AD MIT come with Honda Sensing?

Damn...still that old 1.5L engine instead of the 1.0L Turbo engine as seen in Thai market, rear brake still using drums, come on its 2020 how expensive and rear disc brake be.

In Japan, Honda Sensing is a default safety feature on higher grade model for their Accord, CR-V, Civic, Vezel (aka HR-V) and Grace (aka City), Shuttle and Fit.

PI need to up the game and bring in JDM Grace with Honda sensing and with more airbags. Super envious other nations always get same model with better spec and cheaper price.

FYI, JDM Honda has dropped Grace and the FC CIvic sedan by this mid year. Sales have been too poor and sedans are tough sell over there. Its SUV and minvans over there

Once again, Civic has been dropped from JDM lineup for the 2nd time in recent history due to poor sales. Only the Civic Type Ah Ler remains but not for long since the UK factory is slated to close this year too.

Only the current gen Accord remains in JDM as the sole sedan offering. But the current Accord looks like a rushed and unfinished product.

I think can indent for lesser spec, e.g the airbags under the A pillar cover or side normally has an airbag tag or printing/emboss. If remove locally still need to order extra cover if not how to remove the tag and the printing/emboss.

Airbag is a safety gadget, I don't think u can remove this kind of gadgets locally.  Anyway it makes no sense to import with the airbag and then remove locally cos u would hv already been charged tax on this which thus defeats the purpose of removing.

Perhaps it may be possible to indent less airbags but let's wait for the official launch to see how many airbags are in the City for models here. I would expect 6 which is the standard in most cars today.

The problem is the Honda brand sell itself. Buyers particular thrifty ones will not mind engines dating back to 2000s and drum brakes/other basic parts because they just want the car to go from point A to B without problem.

Secondly is Singapore market is being lumped together with other ASEAN countries where GDP is lower and average buyers are not rich enough to afford the latest car technologies (which push the cost higher).
