So somewhere between saturday night and today, I got this.

I park at hdb carparks for work and home.

This is in addition to two on my bonnet which I got maybe one year ago and maybe another 1-2 on the sides...

There was another thread on this but I couldn't find the title anymore.

These people definitely need hard metallic object to scratch the car. Can't be using fingernails to scratch.

Everday object will be

1)keys

2)coins

This scratch at bonnet

The culprit probably parked your left side, went to his boot took sonething

Used his right hand scratch from left to right to leave that mark.

Just like chalk on blackboard, initial marking is bold then tapered off.

Maybe using a screwdriver sort of stuff.

Depending on where you park, but unlikely to be student as school holiday started if parked near school.

Likely a mentally unstable driver.

You park when they leave for work but do you leave before they get back from work?

Maybe a patient cum stalker cum car scratcher?

It could be my home carpark also. So not sure. Though i suspect it's my work carpark. Cos the scratches on my bonnet, i think are done at work.

Only one line or multiple lines? If only one line, then probably accidental. Maybe pushing a trolley or stroller.

My current car, just barely a month, already a ding at the front passenger door and right rear passenger door. Wont bother too much about it.:XD:

I only park rear in. And my car is executive sedan length, so i park sometimes cant even have space to stand in between wall and car.
It's obviously intentional, nothing accidental.

Yeah I'm not super bothered, just cannot fathom why people do these. Dings here and there due to opening car doors etc, that one my car has plenty.

Then probably the cleaner sweeping the space between the car and wall accidentally caused it. Dont think too much into it.

Now go get Blackvue DR750s or DR900 two channel car camera with Neolink battery pack!!!

I usually parked at level 3 and above in my mscp, extreme right or left and I have parking mode

For outdoor, those open air carpark, I will try to park at the extreme left side so even u fully open ur door also won't hit me.

But u know sinkie pattern, when they see ur side got so much space, they will eat into it parking lot. So to prevent these type of farkers, I will put a big stone on the parking lot line

IMHO.
My observation is to park on the right whenever possible.
I tend to believe drivers will open their doors with care vs passengers.

On your sinkie pattern,  I would say that during parking,  the easy way is for drivers is to take reference from the cars  that is parked vs looking at the ground marking.  So much so that it is not uncommon to find in sparsely populated car bar, you will have 2 or 3 cars parked side by side whereas their are many lots available.

Thus it is very unlikely as per what you describe - would you on purpose park close to another car next to you and hope for the best that the opening of the door(s) won't hit your car?

Tested n proven

Most sinkie will just park based on the est space next to the car or pillar. So if u purposely parked further away from the next parking lot, they will most probably parked close or exceed their parking lot.

Parked at the extreme left already reduce the chances or kana hit by door by at least 50%. Commercial vehicle, phv drivers or elderly driver don't give a damn.
