The smart fortwo micro hybrid drive uses idling phases to switch off the engine and temporarily completely avoid fuel consumption, exhaust gas and noise emissions. In combination with the automated manual transmission already fitted in the production vehicle, customers can comfortably use this function with maximum start/stop availability.

At the heart of the system is a special belt-driven starter generator that supplies the vehicle's electrical system with voltage and has a secondary function as a starter. It is able to smoothly start up the combustion engine in a fraction of a second as soon as the driver releases the brake pedal. This dispenses with the need for a conventional starter motor that works on the flywheel of the crank assembly. In conjunction with slightly modified gear ratios, this strategy leads to a fuel saving of approximately 8 percent in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). The standard consumption is reduced by approximately 0.4 litres per 100 kilometres – from 4.7 litres to around 4.3 litres. Depending on the traffic situation (heavy slow traffic), this can lead to a fuel saving of approximately 13 percent. There is also a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions from 112 grams to approx. 103 grams per kilometre.

Knn this one.

In a crowded carpark, I thought I'm so lucky to spot an empty lot. Drove over then realize it's parked all the way into the lot....make me happy for nothing 😁

I remember seeing this car in this thread but can't seem to find it. What is unusual is that this Merc V123 has a W115 front and rear end grafted on. The rear bumper also looks kinda weird. Unless I am very mistaken...

Like that can pass inspection ah?

I think I am pretty sure it was a V123. Look at the wheel arches. The V123's are more rounded than the V114 in your pics. The rear filler flap also not there.

Just saw this exact same car this morning. The rear wheel arch looks cartoonish. Spotted a few times in my area already. I jiaked him from the left...

Yah I noted some minor differences as well. But see what I have found... It seems to be the 1974 / 75 model year V114 limo. The one in this video look 95% like the one you have spotted.

Same rear bumper (which extended to the rear wheel arch, fixed rear quad window, wheel hub, chrome stripes around the body, wing mirror, etc.

Hmm..you might as well be right, though there are still hints of V123 in there. Look at the chrome garnish at the base of the C-pillar, the wing mirror, and the way the bonnet line slopes down towards the front. And the strange gap between the bootline and the rear light clusters.

If I have a chance to spot it again, I will look more carefully.

Haha! So I was right! This guy must really like the W114 to do such an extensive metamorphosis!

My question remains -  can pass inspection ah?

Nissan Cima VIP Hybrid G. Shot this at Leng Kee. Car then turned into Nissan Service Center. If I'm not mistaken, this could be one of a few here. There was a grey unit on Sgcarmart a few years back but I'm not sure if it's the same as this one.

Thanks for the info and photos! [thumbsup]  [thumbsup]  I missed out the fact that V114 do not have 250 but only 230. And from your photo, can also see clearly that the bonnet belongs to the V123.

BUT, the strangest thing here is that despite the VRN is the same for the both photo, the car are different! Maybe the owner switched to another V123 (imported used car with mod front & rear done overseas), but reuse the VRN and alloy rim?
