Not defending the HRV, but that's because there are so many of them on the road. It's human nature (and Singaporean nature) to find somewhere to complain if you have problems.

So you're see a disproportionate amount of issues. What you likely don't see are the 80% of vezel owners that have no problems.

well buy car is not like buying vegetable. where do you get the stats that 80% no problem?

i wont want to risk my hard earn money on such issues and have to live with it? get used to it?

come on.. we already spenting. make it more worth than just live with problems la.

Plus side of getting a vezel or CHR is abundance of parts and accessories.

If you get CX3 (which was actually a leading choice of mine for a short period) or XV, then you'll mainly have to rely on TEK, since parts would have to be supplied by the AD.

so you mean no stockist supply mazda and subaru parts? have to rely on AD?

I don't have stats. I'm just using an 80/20 rule assumption. I'm not saying 20% of the cars have problems.

Think of it like this: if I sell 10,000 vezels and I have a 2% issue rate, that means that 200 cars have problems. Let's say 1/2 of those owners go to social media to complain. That's 100 complaints.

On the other hand, if I sell 500 Cx3's with a 10% issue rate, that's 50 cars with problems. Let's say 1/2 go to social media to complain that's 25 cars.

So despite the lower failure rate, its perceived that the vezel is less reliable because you hear more complaints from more people.  But that's only because there are more cars on the sold.

I recommend you go get research from reputable firms instead of scouring the boards for peoples problems. At least those firms normalise the data, whereas Facebook groups are just a snapshot of complaints without any context.

I'm just using the vezel and CX3 as examples. That's not the actual issue rate.

No. Not saying that at all because I don't know as I've never the done research for Mazda or Honda.

I'm just using common sense: if I own a store and want to move stock, I want to stock my store with popular parts.  If I see at least 10 vezels and chr's on the road everyday, then I'll probably bring in parts for those models.  Plus competitive pressure would mean I can't charge as high a premium for that part (good for the owner).

On the other hand if I see one CX3 on the road every 2 weeks, then I probably could charge a premium for the item (which is bad for the owner) since I'll only move that item one a month.
