This guy scare will exceed the $7k income ceiling and resulted he cannot buy a new 2 rm BTO. But how come since this guy is already earning close to $7k salary, i am sure he can afford to buy a 3 rm resale flat lo.

Bto more value for money - brand new, 99yr lease vs resale pay a premium in price in exchange for no waiting time and choice of location, another is cost factor - example buying older resale have to also add on more in reno cost, plus bank loan interest due to the higher purchase price, 2 room bto lower price after grants can full cash.

Diff strokes diif folks, if got the time to wait ... bto for the win! :D like this upcoming with sea view. 😉

BTO value for money maybe only for 3 rm and above. Since if sell later sure can profit. But for 2 rm when sell later, don't know if there is a demand for it. But one thing good about buying a brand new 2 rm is low price and can full cash or loan very little. Other than that, i don't see anything good about 2 rm BTO le.

Hmmm....Looks similar to the beginning of the repeat from 2014 to 2017 again...abundance of private and public housing, prices stagnate. Let productivity and wages catch up first. Then market surges after that.

Currently singles can only apply for 2 room flexi BTO unless buying resale then can be up to 5 room - https://www.asiaone.com/money/types-hdb-flats-single-singaporeans-are-eligible-buy

Agreed, as mentioned previously for young couples applying go for the biggest can afford to profit more.

If that is so good to see some healthy correction b4 the next big surge as current property prices are sure defying logic - eg: even 40-50yr old hdb resales selling above no 1mil no talk.

Agreed, 40-50 yr old hdb resale pricing too ridiculous now. Wonder when such pricing would drop to logical range.

Akin to 1BR in private.. more for investor mindset.

IBR in private still have some investment returns. But hdb 2 rm don’t think can get high profit returns. Although the selling price for those resale 2 rm hdb in the market now not cheap. Wonder have how many people buying them.

When the lease drop to zero value also zero ... very logical! 🤣🤣🤣
