How to go about scraping my car?

Hi guys,

I try to search for info about scraping my car but couldn't find anything here.

Is there a sticky I can read or can someone guild me along?

Do I need to get any authorization from LTA.

Simple just drive to LTA approved scrap yard (you can find address in One motoring)

Hand over the car, they will give you some money for car and do all the paperwork with LTA to refund your PARF and any leftover COE.

I drove to this LTA approve scrapyard last week to scrap my bike. Make sure you have a phone with data access and the staff will teach you how to connect up to onemotoring site.

My bike was scrapped with their staff done in about half an hour and I just receive letter from LTA on some COE rebate. Or you can call them to enquire first before going down.

May I know on top of the PARF value that I will get back, is there any other amount I will get from the scrap yard?

Scrap yard assist you to scrap and the necessary paper work.

PARF rebated by LTA. Residue Road Tax (if Any by LTA), Scrap yard give u scrap metal price for the car..

unless it is a exporter and there's a used mkt oversea then may command some $$

OIC. so should I call up different scrap yards for a scrap metal price quotation in order to get the best value out of it?

anything above scrap metal price is good. $2k can steal laugh oredi.

Would it be better to sell, maybe via Quotz, vs calling each scrapyard to get a quote for the body?

Scrap steel is down to thirty bucks a TON, here, today.

If a car is new enough, it can be cut up into pieces and all the undamaged pieces can be sold, plus the engine transmission, seats, suspension parts, tires and wheels, etc, can also be sold if they are not damaged.

Can you send a tow truck? I'm in Yishun.
