Stay HDB and driving $400k S-class is really CMI loh.

But before that, may i ask , is it fully paid?

actually has anyone here been inside a glb?

how's the interior?

2nd row knee room is okay but sitting 3 across will be narrow.

The driver driving position is good although I find the binnacle too flashy and colourful. Distracting in short but quality is high.

3rd row for children but tolerable for short journey if ferry adults of 1.7m. Better than bmw 2er.

Not sure if  S-class is fully paid but all say they got many other properties.  They prefer to park their 400k s-class in mscp rather than sky garage🤣

strapped to roof top is an option too. Joke aside, short journey is okay although thigh support is still lacking a bit.

hahahha thanks for defending your own choices and i dont think its elitist by the way, you might want to check on the definition of elitist. since when entry level A/GLA cost more than $160k and they don't have good interiors, its all plastic mate. Good service okay, give it to you.

Whether a person can afford it is subjective too, as long as you are happy and everyone has their own opinions!

i think you are missing the point here that entry level mercs are quite poorly spec for the price. if people are not buying it for the badge then for what?

Here you go, the 12 Oct pricelist - the A180 is the only one 10k less at $150k: https://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/pricelist/25/2020-10-12.pdf

Yeah, I'm with you that views are subjective, as long as the buyer is happy. Still, here are some quick comparisons regarding interiors of similar cars though - while plastics are inevitable, how they make you feel depends on how well they integrate into the design, and it's hard to argue that MB makes bad car interiors. I think in-depth reviews on carwow/carbuyer in fact show that the use of hard plastics has been minimised. That's on top of other factors like the user-friendliness of infotainment system and all (BMW's iDrive made me buy an X1 over a Tiguan or Q3).

Ya la, so it's not just about the badge.

Already find the third row for my GLE uncomfortable for anyone above 1.55 m even for a 15 mins ride . How and why did they even try to sell the GLB as a 7 seater is beyond my imagination....

Think only the GLS third row is for normal adults ba ...

if really needs a 7 seater , get those MPV better and more comfortable for your passengers ...

I think is to compete with BMW 216 series which is a 7 seaters but also small engine.

Look, I don't mean to target any specific people, but I feel that while this forum has many helpful people posting updated information, there are these elitist views which are abit of a turn off.

Any of these A/GLA/GLB models will cost upwards of $160k, a significant sum which we worked hard for. Some of us don't care about the technical specs like hp/torque, as long as the car works for our regular city driving and errand-running - and we go to MB/BMW for how the car looks, how the car feels, their good interiors, and good service. Why would a buyer be a "badge whore" just because he doesn't need such a powerful engine or big car? If it's because you think he can't afford it, the comparisons are endless - why GLC instead of GLE/GLS? Why not Porsche?

Ultimately, it could just be that the car fits his needs - looks, service, engine, size, budget. And that's all that matters, no?

don't be offended bro. everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

as long as one earns his own keep and buy a car he likes, don't really need to bother what others say. and Merc and bmw had done a wonderful job tbh. they introduced so many entry level models that they now he top 3 selling brands in SG (think i read this somewhere). Ppl can aspire to be own the and be associated to these brands

end of the day, a lot of us are badge whore right? Apple, Prada, Samsung, Chanel, Dyson, rolex, tiffany. most ppl like branded stuff but a cheaper alternative can also serve the same purpose

dont need to justify our own choices as along as didnt steal, beg or borrow haha

Saw the B in C&C 2 weeks ago, I find it reasonably spacious, but I feel BMW's 216 7 seater is slightly bigger.

Interior wise not surprisingly, the 216 no fight. The GLB looks much more upmarket.

edit: Opps.. sorry, what i saw is not the GLB, its the B class, but i think the GLB interior would not be much different from the B.

I didn't know the GLE is a 7 seater. I've been seeing my neighbour's GLE for the past 6 months and it never occured to me its a 7 seater.

Perhaps its the way they design the GLE. If u look at the toyota scienta and honda freed, they r 7 seaters too. I'm about 1.75m and I've sat in my friend's freed 3rd row. It's cramped but not something that is terrible.

Don't focus on them bro, after all, it's your money, your choice. As long as you are happy, don't let anyone tell u what to do. We all have different opinions on how we should spend our hard earned money.

A rich person doesn't necessarily lead a more meaningful life nor leave behind a lasting positive impact on the people more than someone less financially well off.😊

Renault! Nuff said.
BMW already Kenna burnt by the cooperation of the engine with PSA. I’ll wait for Mercedes to finally say  tolong and bye bye Renault!

Having tried a french car before, anything else is reliable.
