If they price it correctly, it's should cost slight more than the Cs and 3s to maintain jaguar's prestige
Civic6228 6th Gear October 14, 2014 Share October 14, 2014 (edited) If priced correctly ie have to be lower than C Class and 3 series by around $10k I feel. Very interesting alternative to the C class, 3 series or the A4 .... but I am still very skeptical about the reliability and availability of parts. I read somewhere ... TATA Group has spend many millions to develop the XE as well as to upgrade the plant in the UK. They have failed badly with their previous attempt with the X type. Price has to be lower than the traditional big 3 before I would consider ... must plan/save for the future. GLZT 6th Gear December 8, 2014 Share December 8, 2014 Seems like the focus is on the new diesel engine. And its unlikely wearnes would bring in the 99g emmission version, the cevs rebate probably 10 or 15k.
Fourth 2nd Gear December 12, 2014 Share December 12, 2014 Seems like the focus is on the new diesel engine. And its unlikely wearnes would bring in the 99g emmission version, the cevs rebate probably 10 or 15k. http://www.jaguarclubsg.com/index.php?/topic/939-jaguar-xe-to-be-offered-with-163-hp-180-hp-20-liter-ingenium-diesel-engine-video/ Billed as Jaguar's most efficient diesel engine ver Jaguar has released additional details about the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter Ingenium turbodiesel engine inside the 2015 XE. Billed as being "the most efficient Jaguar diesel ever", the newly developed aluminum-made Ingenium 4-cylinder 2.0-liter is a Euro 6-compliant motor benefiting from variable exhaust valve timing, selective catalytic reduction technology and a cooled low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation system. The engine will be produced at a new 100,000m2 manufacturing center in the West Midlands in United Kingdom where Jaguar has invested £500 million. In the XE it will be offered in two states of tune: 163 HP (120 kW) & 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) and 180 HP (132 kW) & 430 Nm (317 lb-ft), with the former allowing the baby Jaguar return 75 mpg UK (62.4 mpg US or 3.7 liters / 100 km) and emit only 99 g/km which will make it the company's most efficient model ever. Besides the Ingenium diesel, the 2015 Jaguar XE will also be offered with 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engines and a beefier 3.0-liter V6 supercharged motor which will develop 340 HP (250 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) in the hotter XE S. Full details about the XE will be released on October 2 during the first press day of the Paris Motor Show. Source: Jaguar
