If I was the manufacturer and my dealer charged me $195 to check for crackling sound under a warranty claim then I would be asking them how did they get the figure of $195?

Is it pluck from the air say $200 but $200 sounds like any how whack a price and so reduce $5 and make it $195?

$195 sounds like psychological pricing. $200 sounds so expensive so make it $195 as its just a bit more than $100 only.

Might as well charge 二奶奶😁

i know many bros who will accept half price to use their ears and "check crackling sound on front passenger window". i wonder if there's a full time job for this ... seems like good money! probably @Jamescwill volunteer his MIL :D

My MIL will be happy to do it for less than half. She says $95 will do.

I can testify that she has excellent hearing.

I can whisper bad things about her and she will be running from far away saying - who talking about her, who talking about her?

She is better than that Steve Austin the bionic man.

Kids too young won't know who he is.

If I'm Stuttgart, I would whack $299 first, then show a discount of $104 to arrive at $195.

Win win? Customer happy, I happy, your MIL happy.

So far so good till recently I encountered some noises from the wheel area especially noticeable at Low speeds

i took it to lexus

they spent half a day to check and found some foreign object stuck, removed it and sound gone

i asked how much

they said goodwill FOC

out if courtesy I bought $75 worth of cakes for the mechanics

Yah lah no need to charge money for sound check.

I also don't believe in milking customers.

I believe there are better ways to milk customers.

This is to appreciate the first Lexus customer reporting "some" noise. In the past, Lexus owners killed people by their cars, yet did not feel anything. 😁🤣

I own 2 lexus, current one less than 2 weeks old . my previous Lexus under 5 years warranty they did 3 changes FOC

1) almost 2 years they change my battery for FOC say battery going weak under 2 years.

2) at 3 years they change my LED headlight FOC

3) 4.5 years change engine mount FOC

all FOC under routine check during servicing, without me asking!

but then Lexus lah no premium compare to porsche

When Toyota wanted to know how good Hyundai service is

they got someone to borrow my car to do a mystery shopper

and I got a free service. That's how much Toyota care about service.

a lot of brands care about service and customer ... some brands care more than others, some think that mass market cars dont deserve the same attention to detail as their higher end marques (cough *SA* cough).  on the flip side ... the free science lessons are very entertaining. i can imagine when they are looking for new hires ...

do you love cars?
do you love porsche?
do you f**king science?

if so, we have the right position for you!
(in this position, just stand behind customer and give him the shaft)
