No one close them down. n yet their crosses were quite disappointing... save for the TAA corner ↡ Advertisement

If it goes down to goal difference the -1 by Agent Wilson might make all the difference. 😀 Man! Harry Wilson only score WORLD-LIES! bloody free kick that is better than anyone in the first team right now! That was a SCREAMER!

Atrecord Supersonic August 27, 2019 Share August 27, 2019 Apart from the satisfying win, we also need the substitutes to be able to achieve the same - or at least close to the same - results/effect of the starting 11. Apart from the midfield engine, comprising Fabinho, Hendo, Milner, Wijnaldum, and any rotation among them, any other substitution/replacement in the team will see a change in shape and style, and then the well-oiled machine will suddenly become not so efficient/effective. It's a chicken and egg thing: If these subs aren't coming close to what the starters (esp the front trio) can show, then Klopp would obviously not risk playing them, but the less they play, the lower chances of them coming good... If everyone stays fit and on form, i think we stand a good chance. But if there's any enforced changes, then i will worry... 😓

That was a SCREAMER! it was a perfect freekick. It needed to be as it had the GK beaten at his near post. It was a free kick of the highest quality. Bournemouth did had its moments to put City under more pressure during the game. However, at the end of the day, the quality of City's forwards came through and it was a comfortable win in the end.
Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic August 27, 2019 Share August 27, 2019 Was wondering, why Klopp still doesn't include this two youngster into the senior squad ??? Brewster (B team) & Wilson (loan) ... Lallana was not effective anymore (as seen in Arsenal game) and should be included in the B Team and bring Brewster up ..
cashcow Turbocharged August 27, 2019 Share August 27, 2019 (edited) Brewster is a direct replacement for Sturridge. Wilson had done well at Championship level; now upgraded to Premier league level. Still improving with more game time with Bournemouth. By end season Wilson should be a polished gem to play for Pool in the 2020/21 season. Together with Marko Grujic (now on loan to Hertha BSC). Liverpool's now planing ahead without having to pay excessive fees in the transfer market. By then Lallana and possibly Milner may be phased out aside other tweaks.....just my thots Edited August 27, 2019 by cashcow

Don't think England has seen (m)any better dead ball specialists, esp left legged one. If he can improve his overall play, will have a bright future. Bournemouth had a chance to equalise when their player won the ball and was only 1-2 m away from Ederson but the prod/shot hit Ederson's dunno chest or head to go out for a corner. If that had gone in, the results could have been different...
Raymondism Twincharged August 27, 2019 Share August 27, 2019 TAA can take very good free kicks as well. I think he can be deadly in the free kick is given in the middle within 30yards from goal. Wilson is good but i suspect Shaqiri is the reason for Wilson to be loaned out.

Actually i'm not sure if any of the current crop of players, can replace any one of the front three seamlessly, in that they can play the same style/system and offer the same 'package', or even if just close. Brewster, Origi are all different players from the trio. And if i were Klopp, i will also tend to use the tried and tested (to achieve better results) personnel instead of risking it and playing others - unless one or more of them are unavailable - then it will force my hand. As stated, this is chicken and egg, in that without more tries (and mistakes too, along the way), the fringe/new players will not have the necessary experience to improve. Then if they don't improve till can deliver the same results as the trio, they are unlikely to be played very often, and must wait for the FA/League cups... Lallana out injured v long, and he's older now... so not sure whether he still has any good years in him. Hendo played badly for a couple of years, but at least now he can contribute decently too. Hopefully Lallana will find a second wind too.

The starting 11 for last game vs Gunners (except Adrian) are so well-oiled - you can hardly pin point a particular area of improvement for any given position. Hence we can see why Klopp is happy to sit on the fence for the last transfer window. The likes of Shariqi, Lovren can probably start in the better clubs all across Europe however they haven't even played a single minute of the EPL season. Klopp is clearly trying to beef up the bench strength internally rather than buying players for competition. He would still has at least 3 years to groom before his sabbatical or exit.

Sometimes stability is a kind of strength. At least there are not much disruption from want away players, unlike over at Man U, Spur and Arsenal (earlier). Jamesc Hypersonic August 28, 2019 Share August 28, 2019 Wilson can do free kicks I wonder if he can cross well too. It should be quite similar right? Then he can be back up to TAA. Liverpool full back are all natural wingers.

Agree that the team is playing quite well, esp at this early stage of the season where some players could still be rusty. But i would like to see a good and creative playmaker to help out in attack. City, the benchmark, has KDB and David Silva. While Hendo, Gini, Milner are doing a good job carrying out the briefs given by Klopp, pressing and all, none of these are creative players. The only 2 possibilities now would be Lallana and maybe Keita, both of whom are not playing much for various reasons. If we can get someone like what City has, then i think that would be the final piece of jigsaw to what should be a winning team. Without such a player, we are good. If we get a right one, then we can be excellent.

Fooblack Supercharged August 28, 2019 Share August 28, 2019 TO put thing s in perspectives, Pool's midfield and front 3 set up is a bit different from City's. Pool's main pressing is via the midfield 3 as they double up immediately once the opposition breaches the front 3. Hence, arguably Pool's midfield 3 works alot harder than City's midfield 3. Hence, Pool's midfield is stocked with those "unsung" heroes [Milner, Gini, Hendro etc) while City's midfield is stocked with those elegant ball playing or creative midfielders (KVB, Silva, etc). Pool's setup sometimes does itself in because Klopp has to balance the creative /tactical needs with the practical engine room needs of the midfield. Lots of players like maddison etc -- sometimes I would doubt Klopp will be that interested given the workrate requirement of an attacking midfielder. The closest version we have seen so far which Klopp can accept are the likes of Ox and Keita, who arguably are somewhat more creative than the current crop of workhorses. But they are also not ion the very mould of KVB and David Silva.... ↡ Advertisement
