Yewheng Twincharged June 26, 2019 Share June 26, 2019 The CAAS have no fly zones posted online. Separately, DJI have mapped their own global no fly zones based on known airports. They can be than official CAAS no-fly zones. You can see how they differ, but unlike CAAS NFZ, DJI NFZ have a direct geofence effect on the hardware. The hard stop locations are in red, the blue locations require you to punch in an authorization code that I believe is issued by the CAAS. You need to be a trained drone pilot, and lodge your flight plans before you are allowed to fly in those authorization zones. Capture.JPG A DJI drone without GPS lock will not fly more than 3 metres altitude - this applies indoors as well as out (assuming you are trying to fly it in unguided mode). If you are in flight and you try to fly into a restricted zone, it will not fly forward any further. Within a restricted zone, the drone will not even take off. Wow, then how that drone managed to fly nearby changi airport? Built it ownself? Hack into the drone and modify the hardware and or sorfware? Amazing.. ↡ Advertisement
Lala81 Hypersonic June 26, 2019 Share June 26, 2019 (edited) someone from malaysia or from a ship launch the drones? I'm sure there are lot of CCTVs around the runway areas to detect intruders. given airport so big. Line of sight for usual drones shouldn't be that far right. My friends say DJI is about 1+km max only. Edited June 26, 2019 by Lala81

Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic June 26, 2019 Share June 26, 2019 Drones are back at Changi Airport, causing flight delays SINGAPORE - Unauthorised drones are believed to have caused flight delays and disruptions at Changi Airport on Monday (June 24) night, just days after a previous incident saw 37 flights delayed. The Straits Times understands that at least five flights have been diverted since 9pm, including BatikAir flight ID7157 from Jakarta to Singapore that had to be diverted to Pekanbaru. Singapore Airlines, Garuda, Qantas and Air Asia are among other carriers affected. More than one drone was sighted, with the drones reportedly not of recreational make, The Straits Times understands. The Straits Times has contacted the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore for comment. The flight arrival and departure boards at Changi Airport's terminals began reflecting delays in arrival and departure times from around 9pm. We have this and yet not deployed for duty after first incident which resulting in second sightings .... Its not just an ordinary commercial airport and combine with military airport (RSAF). And RSAF allowed this to happen again...

I don't think will ever get caught. Coz once the person flying drone escaped being caught at that point of time, there is no way for authorities to trace it all the way back already. So this person flying drone near changi airport may had escape 2 times, but he may not be so lucky if he do it the 3rd time.
