We have good experience with electrolux front loading ($600, made in Italy). My mother bought the first one over 30 yrs ago. We decided to replace it, bcuz the handle (design) was not reliable at 12 yrs old. After a myriad of other brands (Bosch, F&P, SS), I'm back with electrolux ($550 made in Thailand), and still using.

I'll never buy another Bosch again. It was the most expensive at $2k, and I had to replace the shocks every 2 yrs. Otherwise, it jump around during spin cycle.

Electrolux is above average reliability.
But the cheap one, the buttons are really not nice to press. The front panel quality is just pretty poor, gave me a poor impression.
Or else i would have considered buying it just for the price.

I actually don’t want any salesman to kacau me at the physical shops but they keep asking. 😁

I just want to explore the products myself.

Not exactly ... I recently bought LG washing machine from Courts and they had further slash the "sales" price that all the online sellers can beat or match... so turned out Courts still cheaper plus some freebies

Expand

The price advertised by online sellers is before or after the cart voucher?

Even after. Difference was as much as $200+ for the model I went with

Roughly it was something like this:

RRP: $2,500

Courts sale price: $2,250

Online price: $2,100-2,200

Courts further price slash: $2,000 + freebie

But you have to talk to salesman to find out

Ok, noted bro. 😁

Am using a Samsung washer /dryer WD8122CVB.. still going strong dispite the fact that it 11 years old.

I just call Samsung to buy the Front door gasket. They mention no more parts avalable.

So now on the hunt for another Washer / Dryer .. quite attracted to the PAnasonic but as I had pretty good experience with my current Samsung, I have short listed to 3 brands. Panasonic, LG and Samsung.

Any clue which has the lowest retail cost for the same brand and model?

Will probably try my luck at Harvey norman warehouse at Chai Chee

Yes, you should go to Harvey Norman Chai Chee factory outlet. Look out for display set, which can be ~30% cheaper than BNIB unit. For washer, since they are typically not being operated during the period they are on display, the discount is too good to be ignored. My Panasonic was a display unit and so far so good *touch wood*.

Actually do you often use the dryer function? My previous Samsung I only use for a few time (during prolong wet weather) and after a while, there is a "mouldy" smell whenever I use the function. Upon checking by the technician, what he said make perfect sense. The outer layer of the drum has all sort of dirt and mould sticking on the surface, yet we are not able to reach it to have it clean up. So when hot air blown through the holes on the drum, we are actually introducing the dirt and bacteria back to our newly washed laundry.

HN chai Chee is a good venue for domestic appliances that's with a R(refurbish) tag.

Get ready though for a cold should  as they might not be too eager to entertain as I suspect the commission for such type R products is minimum.

My old 10kg  Panasonic washing machine is probably gone case. Need urgent replacement.

Deciding between Toshiba (cheaper) and Panasonic front loader (9 to 11kg range).

Anyone can comment on Toshiba washing machine? Vs Panasonic?

I don't need anything fancy.

Last time, but damage not as jia lat as hers. We suspect it was those metallic zipper or hooks from some garment. So now we put those garments with any metallic parts in a laundry net before putting in the WM.

last few days my 8yo samsung washer started to sound funny when spinning, and yesterday it cut off half way during spinning and left the laundry 80% dry, wanted to buy the same model from online but decide to go check out other brands.

went HV at Millenia walk where they have almost every brands and models, we manage to talk to a salesperson who explained the details of almost every washers and some reasons for our washer to kaput.

In the end we bought the Toshiba 12.5kg/8kg washer/dryer, didn't expect the machine come with dryer when we look at the model as we only want a bigger load. Good thing the $300 climate voucher still valid and HV top up another $100 of what energy voucher thingy.
