With COE more ex than its OMV, I don't think a lot of ppl will bite la.

In Munich, smart can park in motorcycle lot.

Still 1.5L Turbo albeit detuned.

On paper, below are the both performance spec

118i - 1.5T 3cyl - 138bhp / 220nm torque - 8.5s (0-100)

116i - 1.5T 3cyl - 108bhp/ 190nm torque - 10.8s (0-100)

 

I guess now they can attract some customer due to now 116i is eligible for CAT A COE..🤦‍♂️

118i is not here not there on spec paper..

118i is not here not there on spec paper..

I've test driven the 118i at PML when it was just launched. Wasn't impressed at all with the performance of the car.. I was considering that car as a potential replacement if my F20 116D then.

I would say, the interior is superb. It closes the gap with Merc interior.

I also test driven the 118i and I do agree with your assessment. Not that powerful but not weak either.

On paper this is better then a 1.4 Golf. But in reality, I felt VW Golf had more power. Not sure if this is due to the 3cyl inherit disadvantage where you have a gap of 60 degree with no power.

In anycase the A to B travel is fine. Interior is superb like what you said.

If looking for performance, it is not really there.

Hence I would really like to see what would an entry level B48 on 120i would drive like...if PML will bring in or the PI.

Currently, there is only 128/135 for B48.  No 120 yet.

Any review on 116i? The exterior looks fanastic. Lots of equipment on the inside too. SE quoted me 147888 with 7k overtrade discount. Is it a good buy at 140888? Do you think i can bargain for more?

1. Front wheel drive #Notabmw

2. 3 cylinder

3. Polarising front

4. Less power than even the last gen tiny diesel that PML brought in

5. Trim and equipment levels are not what BMW is known for especially at the lower end of their product line

 

 

On the other hand , it is supposed to be a fairly  competent car . Do NOT let them just increase overtrade when u bargain - THIS IS NOT A DISCOUNT, just increases your loan component.

 

You might want to try and get into the local Facebook or heavily policed 🤣 Telegram group for reviews.

 

This car or even the current gen F40 118i that PML brought in wasn't enough car for me to change out of the previous gen petrol 1 series.
