Acemundo Supercharged May 28, 2019 Share May 28, 2019 I made a mistake actually , the figure of usd11k permit fee is correct , the other costs are about usd20k +++ so be prepared with deep pockets like $40-50K so normally have to have sponsors like @cashcow around ↡ Advertisement
Beregond Supersonic May 28, 2019 Share May 28, 2019 The Nepal side is just money talks, heck care the environment, heck care the climbers, even have scams to fleece more money https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/04/world/asia/nepal-everest-rescue-fraud.html controlling this is like first world country ask third world country dun cut trees, protect the earth , and they must give finance compensation / aids etc etc . if now UN say they give a few Bs aids per years, cut down on the permit. nepal will agree at once.
Karoon Turbocharged May 29, 2019 Share May 29, 2019 choppers cant fly to the peak because they need oxygen for their engines, but drones can, and when they start flying tourists straight to the peak, queues would form at the helipads too.

I think at 29000+ ft height of Everest, oxygen is not an issue for flight. It's more an issue of air density not enough for sufficient lift. Drones might suffer the same problem. Drones might suffer the same problem. thats what i thought at first... but a helicopter have actually landed on the everest summit, though its a one-off (no passengers, no seats, crazy pilot etc) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXNXSvnCtKA&feature=youtu.be so i guess with drones it would be simpler as their weight, no need for combustion engine, ease to fit high-lift blades are all in their favour.

Drone uses batteries. Batteries at very low sub zero altitudes have like 20% of their normal capacity
Yewheng Twincharged June 5, 2019 Share June 5, 2019 (edited) https://www.google.com/amp/www.alanarnette.com/blog/2017/12/28/comparing-the-routes-of-everest-2018-edition/amp/ There's more then 2 route to the top of Mount everest. Almost all will take either southeast or north route. Other routes are too dangerous to climb. But then there are still many yolo people managed to climb up through other routes. http://k2tracks.com/everest-2006/ Got people went to attempt to climb the unclimbed route, but in the end abort it, reason is too dangerous and one of them comment, they come here to climb not to die. At least they know when to give up, not like some of the more noobie climbers that take the most commonly route from Nepal and have the never say die attitude till really die.
