therock Supersonic May 11, 2019 Share May 11, 2019 I bought a spare tire for my car and it's an odd size. I wonder if bros can help locate a place to get a tire for this? And how often do you replace the tire? Thanks I've asked a couple of the more popular stores and they say they don't have this? ↡ Advertisement
Shibadog Turbocharged May 11, 2019 Share May 11, 2019 looks like a space saver spare tyre. hard to find locally cos very very very low demand so tyre importers will not bring in. if really want a spare tyre, suggest to get a full size rim n tyre which are same size as your regular tyres. That's what I did. And I threw out the original space saver spare.

And how often do you replace the tire? Thanks I've asked a couple of the more popular stores and they say they don't have this? sorry dont scold me for stupid idea. why do you want to replace it? if really need you can try to find this size or similar size motor cycle tire , BUT I said BUT basically the problem for motor cycle tire is the Weight need to carry a sedan can is some problem , if no choice put the MC tire and if really need to drive on it just drive slow speed (may be maximum 50km/h) enough for you to drive to nearest workshop for Help. getting a full size is the Best option that provided your compartment is big enough to accommodate . otherwise try google and do remember to check is the tire stored too long. Cypher 4th Gear May 11, 2019 Share May 11, 2019 This is disconcerting news for owners of such tyres knowing that the availability of such tyres is scarce.

Volvobrick Supersonic May 12, 2019 Share May 12, 2019 (edited) Last time when I tried to replace one that was already cracked was unsuccessful. Ended up bought a can of tire inflator/sealer for emergency and drove till scrap. Edited May 12, 2019 by Volvobrick
Shibadog Turbocharged May 12, 2019 Share May 12, 2019 Thanks bros, I just need the tire. This tire is less than ten years old, so I don't want an older tire. maybe ask the car's Authorised Dealer for advise? please don't fit a motorcycle tyre. It may look the same but different construction and load rating.
therock Supersonic May 12, 2019 Author Share May 12, 2019 I imported the spare, AD doesn't carry spares.. I do long jaunts up north, so a spare is useful and those run flats I'm currently using feel stiff.. But I might have to go for more RFT when I change.. double insurance... Roberttan 5th Gear May 12, 2019 Share May 12, 2019 Options Stick with your current old or aged compact spare tire Ask AG for ordering new spare (prepare to pay some money) Go junk yard try your luck (not sure will there entertain you and cost ?& how old are those Junk ) Change to runflat tire (prepare for the extra cost and ride comfort will be compromise) Install a tire pressure monitoring system(if your car doesn't has )
therock Supersonic May 12, 2019 Author Share May 12, 2019 Thanks bro Keeping it for now until I can find a new tire Already looking at Pirelli P7 RFT to replace my current RFTs.. TPMS - check... It's been quite useful, and I have a healthy appreciation for the benefits after I encountered 3 nail punctures recently... If not for the RFTs, I will need a lot more help fixing my tires.. therock Supersonic May 12, 2019 Author Share May 12, 2019 3 punctures in a short time is unusual - someone saboing you? My own contractor! Initially I thought it might be a nasty neighbour... or even some student at work.. But I realised what the issue was later on.. and the nails all look the same.. His troops keep leaving all kinds of rubbish around.. I have a holy tire... ha ha

Find the ride less harsh & is quieter than the RFT Bridgestone Porenza I had been using for my other rides. Just changed to a new set after clocking 32,000km. Downside is that it wears out faster than the Potenzas, which I usually change around 40k km. Edited May 12, 2019 by TameDriver
