Don't see Spanish complain about Spanish Flu.

The worst is Spanish Flu starts from USA.

People with monkeypox really must go here and there and spread and spread.

Why can't the people with the pox just stay at home?

:D

It's like people never learn anything from Covid.

I will be more concerned of the TB clusters in Bukit Merah.

Saw tv news reported this, and it says TB has medicine to cure and not so infectious as covid, so no need to over panic?!

Good read on Monkeypox.

The monkeypox infection begins with respiratory symptoms but blooms into a distinct rash, first in the mouth, then the palms of the hand and soles of the feet, and gradually the rest of the body. The rash eventually becomes raised, growing into pus-filled blisters.

Each pustule contains live virus, and a ruptured blister can contaminate bed linens and other items, putting close contacts at risk. Infected people should also be very careful about rubbing their eyes because the virus can destroy sight.

decided to refresh my TB knowledge as its not been a big issue here for a long long time.

anyways, my takeaway from this is good personal hygiene practices + mask wearing is also good defence for TB.

You will cry when taking the TB medicine ........ :a-m1524:

Its not one or two weeks that you are cure. It takes months (minimum 6 to 9 months) to cure.  :lll._.:

Don't know the hospital still practice or not ...  :slow:

In 2002, my colleague caught TB and was send to TB Centre (part of TTSH) for treatment. Every morning, he had to take a bus to TBC, Moulmein Road to take his medicine in front of nurses before coming to work. He was given time off to take the medicine and that lasted for 9 months. :lll._.:

Doctor don't prescribe you the medicine for home as some would not take them resulting the person that caught with TB has to go to hospital to take the medicine. Forgot whether 6 or 8 pills at one go.... [sweatdrop]

No play play with TB..... :a-noway:

you are still right.

"TB can be cured with anti-TB drugs. Treatment of active TB, which is sensitive to first-line anti-TB drugs, usually involves a combination of several different drugs, taken for 6 to 9 months. More than 95% of people with active TB are cured if they take all the medications as prescribed and until completion."

https://www.moh.gov.sg/diseases-updates/tuberculosis#:~:text=TB can be cured with,as prescribed and until completion.

Maybe now with telemedicine, the nurses can witness the patient take the medicine via laptop and no need to travel there. But still very troublesome.
