Hamburger Hypersonic May 6, 2019 Author Share May 6, 2019 fake as in no such clinic and doctor? or the clinic mc chit been stolen or abused by clinic staff ? Fake as in patients producing MC that was verifièd by staffs of clinic that they never visited the clinic on the specific date. Apparently the fake MC itself looks too dodgy with the signature of the attending doctor being photocopied. Company can fire you. Ah gong can jail you. Jail term is serious matteŕ. No joke. Ysc3 Twincharged May 6, 2019 Share May 6, 2019 (edited) Search for the recent case of the CGH Dr who wrote his own mc then went to work part time at a clinic to earn extra money. https://www.cleo.com.sg/entertain-me/celebrity-and-trending/singapore-doctor-forge-own-mc/ No good end. Carbon82 Moderator May 6, 2019 Share May 6, 2019 Within the company, the one producing fake MC maybe subjected to disciplinary action stipulated in the Code of Conduct / employee handbook, HR policy, etc. which typically involve written warning (for 1st time offender), deduction of pay (to recover the period of "MC"), and even termination of service (especially for repeated offender). The company may also choose to report the clinic which issue fake MC to its employee, to MOH and SMC. In the rare cases, police report may also be lodged, if the company has reasons to believe that it is a fraud.
Watwheels Supersonic May 6, 2019 Share May 6, 2019 Depending on what's the motive to fake the mc for. If it's used to commit crime/fraud then it's worth the time to report to the authorities.

The offence of Forgery for the Purpose of Cheating under Section 468 of the Penal Code Chapter 224, carries a maximum jail term of up to 10 years and a fine. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/22-year-old-student-arrested-for-suspected-forgery-of-medical-certificates
Kusje Supersonic May 6, 2019 Share May 6, 2019 Depending on what's the motive to fake the mc for. If it's used to commit crime/fraud then it's worth the time to report to the authorities. Is there any other reason to fake an MC? Within the company, the one producing fake MC maybe subjected to disciplinary action stipulated in the Code of Conduct / employee handbook, HR policy, etc. which typically involve written warning (for 1st time offender), deduction of pay (to recover the period of "MC"), and even termination of service (especially for repeated offender). Should be fired.

Hamburger Hypersonic May 6, 2019 Author Share May 6, 2019 The clinic doctor will also be implicated and jip pai tua kee leow .... frankly if the MC was "produced without his/her knowledge, dont think will be implicated or incriminated. Its the patient that doctored the MC. It's a Criminal Offence under Cheating, Section 520 Cap 224 Private Company - Sacked (but private company can still make a police report and get the person involve jailed) Gov - Fine, Jail & sack kind of difficult to explain how it would apply to the concerned party that doctored the MC on my side here. But i would incline to say its more towards the ah gong side. Depending on what's the motive to fake the mc for. If it's used to commit crime/fraud then it's worth the time to report to the authorities. let me put in in the simplest way i could. Its ah kong mandated program but one chose to doctor a fake MC in order to siam the program.
