not sure if kmc will bring in luxury sedans when their avante/accent are selling like hot cakes. the new sonata design is really nice and futuristic but some might say otherwise.

hard to compete in the luxury sedan market for kimchi unless they can price it very competitively at sub 100k as there is still a taboo for kimchi cars. anything above 100k, there are many others in the market to fight against such as mazda 6 and camry.

mazda 6 2.0l lowest was below 100k.

Any news yet if Komoco going to launch this model? If yes, best to be the 1.6T than the cmi 2L again.

Sorry... confirm plus chop the 2.0 L NA will come in... cos it's still used in Korea... just hope that it's the newer GDI version... although more powerful it has higher maintenance regime...

That one is old model I think... the new models should be more than $100K... but again depends on COE... Mazda has been very aggressive in promoting the 6 but I still don't see many on the road... same for the 3... maybe all prefer to buy SUV now...

This is how the new Sonata N may look like. 300hp 2L Turbo GDI as shared by the i30N Performance package, not the water down I30N we have in SG.

Hyundai will have a big winner if Komoco brings this here.

The top end model is the N-line... comes with the new 2.5 L turbo which replaces the 2.0 L turbo... this keeps it in line with all other brands power and torque wise. The other engines are the usual 1.6 L turbo and the diesel... other markets get the 2.0 L NA... the 2.4 L NA finally phased out... and the 3.3 L turbo reserved only for the luxury makes...

Looks is ... cannot make it. The recent generation of hyundai cars, looks all fail.

Stiffer, sportier platform. Better engine with the new TC engine overseas. Seats not too comfortable according to test drives. And the looks...

Agree lar... the new Avante was a bit of a fail despite the significant mid life facelift... the Sonata looks good all round except that catfish grille/mouth... I think the last generation Elantra /Sonata/Tucson/Santa Fe, etc had the best design... anything newer is not so attractively designed... yet I think the current generation i30 looks substantially better than the previous generation... perhaps their European design house has better talent than the Korean one...

Yes, the mouth/front looks terrible.

I find the pre-FL tucson grille looks nicer than the FL one [:p]
Avante looks fail.

Kona looks interesting, not bad. Santa Fe new one, Pallisade all look not bad.
Yes. the i30 looks smart.

doubt kmc will bring in the top n line, look at the sales of i30 n line or stinger and how often do you even see them on the roads. no one is gonna spend that kind of money in sg when you can get a conti (probably a4/a5/c class mercs/etc) at that pricing.

over here in sg, its all about face.

drive a stinger vs driving a bare bone c class mercs, people will still think you are more uppz with the mercs despite stinger probably smoking the mercs in terms of performance and space.

kona had the 1.0t manual and 1.6t auto. 1.6t auto was definitely attractive but the pricing was crap so ended up kmc pulled it off the shelves. 1.0t manual = only manual lovers will buy it.

however the avante/elantra series is still their main bread and butter, just look at the sales figures and the number of elantra/avante on the roads now.

Agree that the 1.6T Kona pricing was lousy. Even the current Tucson pricing also not very good due to the 10k surcharge VES, that's maybe the reason you don't see them on the roads. If not, I might be owning 1 of them now, but instead I jumped ship to another brand.

Interesting isn't it... the small petrol turbos were supposed to reduce CO2 emissions but with the new VES, the particulates kill the turbo engines and puts them one band below and totally skews the pricing... was super hopeful that the 1.6 L turbo would come in for my Sonata model... but I think after testing water with the Tucson, with the poor response, I wonder if Komoco will bring it in again or not?

Sonata is really rare breed on the roads now, you think if KMC will take the risk again? I don't think so.
