Is it alright to pay more for the Toyota brand?

While I would not not want to belittle their work and also I had a few friends previously working as Toyota SEs, I think they mainly process orders from unkers n aunties. During my last visit to the Toyota showroom, I knew more about the car than the SE and she could only talk about price and free gifts. During test-drive the next SE could not point out anything special about the cars or reply to my comments about the handling. Still I don't think Borneo should cut their commissions as I understand it is already lower than other ADs.

Yes, fully agree!

Toyota is known for its reliability and many people buy because of that...nothing more special than that for SE to point out.

In fact, the last time I bought my 2nd Altis, I didn't even test drive the new version as I was already convinced of what I was  looking for before I went to the showroom..:) 

 

Worthwhile for Borneo to explore going online, cut some prices and probably business will be better.

I’m a strong advocate of getting rid of all sales altogether. Cars aren’t that complex where you need someone to help sell.

Same goes for housing agents. I see no value add.

Haha, quite true. When I went for other test drives, like BMW, the SEs usually could show me some bells and whistles.

With a weak market, we should not be surprised that BM move is indirectly forcing some of their sales people to resign.

 

Those who stay but cannot hit new sales target will be asked to leave as well.

 

In other words,company want to cut down on manpower cost. Instead of having 30 sales staff, May be just 5 will do for each showroom.

my BM's agent did not tell me coe is going up if I don't buy now.

She also make no mention about other car brand/model, only addressing the issue on the car that I was going to buy - some bro is right. All the features/thing she mentioned can be read from the brochure.

 

There is only one agent that tried to scare me by pushing me to buy and place the deposit now because coe is going to rise if I don't buy now. And it is the TEK's agent - Mazda that served me.
