Cool!

but you should not use the batman bezel and snowflake hands and cyclop crystal.

makes it too rolex tudor wannabe.

keeping it clearly Seiko and Japanese would be much better

want to try that next, may go for a blacked out godzilla or samurai dial, with a PVC case and bracelet will see how that project turns out....

This is not the T2 that we know 😛! Did you kidnap our in-house gold & vintage only Rolex aficionado? This  looks like a 41mm the real T2 would only wear a 36mm DJ ok!

Thanks for following me so closely but there is a slight misunderstanding you have of my choices.

and that is, i will still buy new Rolexes which are still able to retain all the balance and classic look for no more than retail price.  This Datejust41 is an example.  It captures all the distinctive classic Rolex features yet subtlely bringing in a bigger size case.  Imo, 40mm would have been perfect.  41 is a teeny weeny bit off.

the Daydate 40 for example is a very beautiful new Rolex and can be bought at no more than retail too.

almost bought it in Rolex Japan for $45k but decided not to splurge since i am an unemployed bum

There have been a few caliper measurements of DJ41 in various forums showing their actual diameter under 40mm. The DJII is bigger though, at 41mm.

The datejust 2 has a broader bezel which makes the face imbalanced.  Thats the distinct difference. Officially the case of both is 41mm.  However rolex case are all individually  hand finished and therefore there would be slight variances.

on top if that the caliper measurements especially the one in this pic shows that the person is not doing it correctly.  Note the second pic especially. Due to the position of the crown being in the way, the calipers should be placed at the 3.5 marker and 9.5marker.  Not 3.5 / 9  which would result in a smaller measurement

it is also quite known that the standard rolex sport case is 39-40mm so i think the standard dj2 and dj41 would be 40-41mm.

either ways for me, its the overall balanced look of the bezel on the case vs the dial that matters.  And of course the sport jubilee bracelet.

Very well balanced proportions maintaining the classic DJ look.

the size of the markers and numbers on the dial further accentuates that balance.

lastly the new sport jubiliee adds to the finishing touch.  Finally I got it at below retail and that is the icing on the cake.

a near flawless asthetic upgrade of the classic Datejust with technical improvements makes this the Ref to get in a marketplace that is crowded and confused and overpriced.

first pic i took immediately after i got the watch with all stickers intact.

second pic show the watch after i removed the pesky stickers

i also attach a picture of my first Datejust ref 1601 which also sports the same dark grey sunburst dial, my fave for the steel datejust.

so i am the Real T2 @Jujitsuka

nothing's changed. 😄

Very nice! Personally I like baton markers due to the lume. What’s your view on Roman or diamond marker dials in the DJ41?

I find that roman markers and diamond markers do not enhance the overall look for the DJ41.

again its due to the “balance”

to elaborate, the roman markers used on dj41 are too big and the current diamond setting is too chorlor for an elegant series.

the bestest is still with the baton markers. Choice of several sunburst dials including blue black silver dark rhodium white .

Get one?

Heres how the chromalight lume looks.

Bestest against the dark rhodium dial to me.   Not that i care much about glow.😁
