Marbella DashCam Users

Anyone got the Marbella KR X? It's $299 on shoppee now. Latest model but no reviews.

Just sharing my experience. Bought the Marbella KR8S PRO 2-CH FHD 1080P.

Everything was working fine or so I thought UNTIL i got into a minor accident with a JB motor.

Tried to replay  video and guess what ? When playing, the impact when the motor hit my car got "cut" and to make matters worse it was raining and there were breaks of recording inbetween and colour was static.

Lastly when I tried to download the video, you can only play using the app and UNABLE to share over whatapp like wth ?! Guess which platform worked ? FB chat .. lol.

TBH, reviews were good before I bought it at Shopee but my experience with it was horrible. And to those who have issues unable to connect to WIFI, just restart the damned camera.

One thing that's good is that after sales support is top notch. I went down few times to have my camera fixed and the technician was very friendly and helped including giving me a free SD card reader. But alas the product itself sucked. 

You guys should try 70mai, my friend has it and I was so amazed it even shows screenshots of your recording which was unbelievable!! And download videos and connecting WIFI was smooth.

You cannot escape having video break. All dashcams are set at 1/2/3/5 etc min interval..

I have installed two dashcams to capture front view, and ,yes, one of them is 70mai. Coincidentally, my 24hr dashcam is Marbella too. 

Having a backup dashcam also alleviates the problem of having your dashcam malfunction without you knowing. Last time my blackvue turned green screen without me knowing, only to realise it when i try to download the video after a near miss from a car that filtered without checking blindspot.

@Soundphile AhI see.. I suay then kanna accident and it decided to "die " on me. 
Was my first car and experience with Marbella sucked . And now that I'm changing cars, I checked and Marbella works perfect now lol..

 

But the interface and everything else pales in comparison with 70mai. It's so intuitive and user friendly , again my opinion.

Just sharing my own thoughts. I got my Marbella KR8S Pro installed recently to replace my faulty Blackvue. I was sitting on the fence for this and the 70mai A800. The 70mai is very tempting with 4K video (note that if you installed rear camera then the front will be downgraded to Full HD), GPS, ADAS and a display screen. 

The price is also quite close and what made me decide on Marbella is safety. Marbella, like all other common brands uses capacitors while the 70mai uses battery pack. I have safety concern especially if you always park under the sun for long hours. I would say if your car is always sheltered, just go for the 70mai as the functions outweighs the Marbella one.

I vaguely remember buying one with gps..and it was not working properly.

I had to take the trouble to go to Henderson Rd to return and get my money back.

No thanks, no more for me this brand.

Just to check, anyone has the GPS logger installed? Any benefits over without one other than the location and speed?

My KR8s came without the GPS logger. Was told that the time (in the cam) is sync-ed using my phone when I connect to the cam using the app. I was thinking if adding the GPS logger would help the sync of date/time using satellite instead.

I have a KR8S Pro but it doesn't enter parking mode after engine is switched off, and the segment for parking mode is totally empty on the SD card. Any tips on how to make it work?

Card is already formatted to receive parking mode recordings.

@CarGuy88 hi. When you turn the ignition off, does the camera continue running as if you were still driving or does the camera turn off?

Aiyo, then it is just wired to your ignition/ACC. It will not record in parking mode.

To record in parking mode, you need to get the installer to wire the power to the battery source or install a external battery pack. Once you off your engine, it will enter into parking mode after a certain period.

Thanks, that was most helpful to know! I need to ask the AD of my car to rewire since it came installed by them. 🤦🏻‍♂️

You mentioned AD and if I guess its a new car, probably that’s deliberately wired this way. Most ADs do not wire the camera to the battery or else they will not honour the warranty for the battery. Just take note.

I just purchase 1 shuttle from dealer last tues, it came with marbella KR8s pro front n rear cam. 

Now the issue is that, the previous seller didnt give the wifi password, i cant access to the cam, i mail marbella on tis issue but till now no reply. 

Anyone knows how to reset this cam wifi password?

Usually most cam password will be 1234567 or 12345678 . See if it works, if owner has changed before then might need to do a reset if possible, if not bring to Marbella service centre for advise.
