OIC ..... I remember the sand flies only more than anything and never saw the cow..... was like 5-6 years back ..... the sand flies itch more worse than mozzie bites .... lasted for a week ..... anyway the place is rustic .... nice

Oh this place....

 

Ironically I've been here twice and both without cars.

 

1) During NS, we when to the plain field beside that building to practice our heli ops drill and eventually the live drill with Huey UH-1H choppers. We embark Vietnam war style which brought us all the way to a bare field in Yishun near what was supposed to be the old NYP campus (now a condo I think)

 

2) In my early career, our coy booked a shuttle bus which ferry us here for a team-building session.

Now called Serangoon island?  OBS course (school days) canoed from Ubin and camped there on the beach (when it WAS actually an island), and used some seawater mix with fresh to cook maggie mee too!

I think maybe it's a place where we have this watermanship in BMT.

I keng and bcum lifeguard. While the rest of my platoon was busy doing what they do in water, I was busy picking up crabs along the beaches.

I think this video is doing a disservice to Coney Island.

 

I went for a 5 hour hike (with photographic equipment) twice, few years apart. Each time have different encounter.

 

Saw plenty of Eagles, kingfishers, herons, parakeets, oriole, woodpeckers, sea otters, monkeys.

 

The video only show the algae on breakwater rocks.

Coney island. Not exactly secretive. Ran there a few times. 

East to west entrance is roughly 2.4km only.  And if you exit the West gate, turn right it's only 500 to 800m to Punggol settlement with a 7/11 for refreshment. So not that ulu lah..

Yeah it's close to punggol end. Very convenient to get to lah... Unless u starting out from punggol safra and waterway side then it's far.
