Ha I grew up eating nonya ba zhang.

But now don't eat often. I always scared of glutinous rice giving indigestion.

I like ba zhang but now cannot eat often, only once a blue moon due to glutinous rice hard to digest. Even i eat also must eat before lunch.

The Thai style bak chang is quite different from Singapore's, very little meat and lots of nuts so I don't like.

 

Always buy in Singapore and bring back put in freezer for later meals. Normally I buy from a stall in Hong Lim known as Hiong Kee this is very traditional Hokkien style bak chang. This round saw in net a Hoo Kee shop at Bukit Merah Central block 161 thought I'd try it.

 

 

 

 

Was told prices just went up 50 cents today

 

Sheng Siong Bak Changs surprisingly not too bad.. 

Dun know this year standard still maintain or not?

I like their Nonya changes..

Those so called old school bak changs standard dropped but prices went up drastically...

Still can eat. Try to eat it early, say before 1400 hrs so that there is enough time for digestion!

Ya lo, i usually eat in the morning. If not cannot digest and my whole stomach feel bloated. Lol.

For me, there is no problem at the moment, I can take it any time, but, I still use to eat it for breakfast or, sometimes, lunch.

Not really a fan of these hot pots but wife n daughter likes. That said I’m pleasantly surprised that it actually tastes good
