how long do u keep such food in the freezer? U store in what ar?

A few months.

If there's space, would store portions in rect disposable boxes, with an outer wrap of Polypropylene bag to reduce moisture loss & dehydration.

If space is tight, would place in a zipper bag but still need outer polypropylene bag, as zipper bag (even meant for freezer) tends to leak anywhere along its sealed edges while thawing.

Went to a hdb vege shop after lunch, to avoid the crowd at supermarkets. Such a sad desolate sight...I meant the empty display boxes & shelvings, all empty, save for a few strands of pathetic yellowish left over leaves.  🙁

Then in one corner, saw this, so glad that most people do not knw how to cook or appreciate it.   Bought this lot, enough to last me for next few days, in a variety of cooking styles.

Just now went to fair price before noon, surprisingly all veggies and meat full stock, no see long queue also and managed to get the food stuff i want. Only thing the shelf is almost empty is eggs! Seems like people love to eat eggs a lot. 😅 Or many people like to bake bread or cake, so uses eggs a lot also?!

At the supermarket seldom see cabbage come from taiwan?! Often see is from china or australia. Many papaya sold come from hk also.

By the way guys, in the next few weeks when you shop for food, do consider using renewable containers.

Otherwise we may end up using more than 1 million containers over the next four weeks.

That's a lot of trees... and tell them not to include chopsticks or spoon. Use your own. Cheers

Long time ago i have already stop asking them to give me chopsticks and spoon. For the next few weeks, i will cut down or stop buying outside food. Would anyhow cook something for my lunch and dinner and eat bread/roll oats for my breakfast. [laugh] The only time i go out is to replenish my food stuff at supermarket and i also bring my own bags for the groceries.

To be honest, i won't bring. Even though i bring my own reusable bag for supermarket.

1. I don't have a SS tiffin carrier. That's with my mum.

2. It's really difficult to thoroughly wash off the oil stains from containers especially plastics. The sheer amount of water, detergent required to really clean these containers is also not easy on the hands.

3. my only containers are microwaveable glass containers which are just a bitch to carry around lol.

If the container is not too dirty, like used for dessert or something like porridge maybe i'll reuse. But if u clean these things regularly, u realise how much effort is required just to rewash them.

I think stainless steel containers are probably the easiest to clean. So if u have them, do use. Or those insulated lunch boxes with SS inside and plastic outside.

I prefer the ikea takeaway boxes. Very good.
