Went to mall for lunch for some errands.

Been watching lot of china/tw cooking videos recently so craving for some noodles.

Lenu. 50% off 2nd noodle. Highly satisfying. Their soup is bit on the bland side but their noodles are piping hot and nice. their 菜肉绞 is superbly juicy. My Chinese noodle fix. Don't get their 红烧牛肉 though. This fried chicken cutlet also not bad (but not their pork chop one).

27 bucks including my wifes noodles.

Dinner.

Teriyaki sauce chicken and oyster sauce veggie.

When I bought whole salmon, I will always grilled the head. Put a thin layer of miso onto as seasoning. Very nice as the meat at the head are more fatty.

I usually only buy Salmon heads. And yeah, same same. I just grill + salt and pepper. And I suck the bugger dry !  [thumbsup]

The latest one I bought weighed 4.62Kg and yield about 10 large fillets, where each fillet is good for 2 salmon steak (something like the one below). The head (I normal prepare fish head soup with some veggie) is good for 2 person, and the bone (with some meat on it) can be for another meal (with some green added) for my family of 4.

Both SS & Giant will cut up the fish into fillets upon request, so I will just clean them up when reached home, package them into separate bag, and keep them in the freezer. Normally take me about a month to finish 1 fish (still very fresh when defrost).

When wife buy a whole fish from wet market, the boss always tell my wife to wash the fish fillet only when she wants to cook it. Can last longer according to the towkay.

U should minimise water contact with the meat cos the meat will absorb the water changing the fish meat and taste.

Actually in restaurants or outside... They usually just clean with paper towel or wipe dry only to reduce this esp if u are frying.

I usually clean the innards area when I get the fish or if the fish is halved, then u can try to clean off the marrow from the cleaved spine bones. Otherwise only wash the fish after u defrost.

But sometimes the wet market bag has bit of bloody water inside, also need to rinse off la.
