These are the big crunchy chye poh I like.  I don't like those finely chopped ones found in the Tiong bahru and  bedok  chwee kuay.

This chwee kway stall is at one of the non-aircon food court at Elias Mall (opposite Elias CC). The chye poh is quite ok, but some might not like the added fried onion bits to it. You can tell the stall helper not to add the onion bits upon ordering.

My favorite chwee kway is still the one at Ghim Moh market, the chye poh is made with lard, and the taste is more traditional. I know it is unhealthy, thus I only take it long long one time. (more than a year still I last had it).

The Ghim Moh market one from the old couple?

First time buy it there after fetch my daughter from her JC near by.

The chye poh indeed have the lard taste inside, but it is more salty. However I like the texture of the kway.

U Grill it or u pan fry? Cos indoors not possible to grill.

Was wondering what’s a better way to do for indoors that doesn’t make it too messy.

Hi, don't mind me saying this, u know that the marbling is actually fake right?

I use to eat beef like this until i found out that the marbling is artificially injected.

Pan fried but put to strong fire, as cooking time need to be short.

Need a very hot pan to sear on stove top. Basically at such temps well in excess of 200, probably the best is cast iron skillet.

Your non stick pan coating will definitely degrade under such heat.

If u have broiler function in convection oven, u can finish broiling in cast iron skillet after initial sear is done.

In summary, lots of smoke and yeah i don't cook this in indoor kitchen since I don't have a maid.

If U Want to minimise it, can sous vide the steak, then u just need some searing at the end. That's the most practical way to reduce mess.

Hope u use cast iron. Teflon coatings cannot handle the heat.

@carbon82. It's my favorite less unhealthy almond snack. I can either find it at some ntuc finest. Qoo10 also sells. But it's half the time out of stock there. And u need to buy in bulk.

Novena sq 2 should sell also. Anything less than 9 dollars per pack is worthwhile. In korea, it costs around $7.50. Anything on lower side of 8+, just buy in bulk haha

This brand is the best.
