Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5

I have not tried PS4 as the size is not available in 235/50-18 or 235/55-18.

I had tried the Michelin Latitude Sports3 235/55-18 and used until 45k (which looks like can easily use until 60k)

At 45k, The Michelin Latitude Sports3 was not noisy, grip in dry and wet was still good.

My car is AWD and all tyres dimension are the same. The tyres pressure are pumped when cold around 270kpa front and 260kpa rear. At this Tyre pressure, the Michelin is slightly more comfortable than F1A3. But the F1A3 feels right.

At lower Tyre pressure of 240f/230rr, the F1A3 is slightly too floaty I thought my damper is softening.

Comparing the Michelin Latitude and Eagle F1A3, the following are the comparison in my opinions:

-dry and wet braking for both I don’t feel much difference.

-comfort wise Latitude is more of a comfort than F1A3 maybe it’s 235/55 compared to 235/50

-cornering wise F1A3 is much precise

- F1A3 has rim protector which is a plus point

- both tyres models seems to be able to last

I haven’t tried the lower profile 30 or 40 before so maybe that’s but I think if the pumped Tyre pressure for F1A3 is anything below 250kpa.. it’s too floaty, maybe can try pump up to 260kpa or 270kpa?

Just my humble opinions above. Both Michelin and good year are good tyres and Michelin are good overall with lesser user complaints. But I’m pretty happy with the Goodyear given that they checked all my requirements slightly more. I have no complaints with it and will not hesitate to use the Goodyear again.

I'm the kind of guy who is willing to spend on getting what I want.

Glad you are happy with your continental tires. But once you try Michelin there is no turning back. The feel is completely different. You get what you pay for. The price difference relative to the increased performance may not make sense but there is always a reason why something is priced the way it is. It is like how people say the Kia Stinger feels like a BMW at a fraction of the price. But it will never be a BMW even if the person behind the Kia Stinger used to be from BMW.

well said , apple to apple  [thumbsup]

225/45/R17

I notice the A5 is made in Poland instead of Germany where the A3s were made in.

I guess they have few plant in Europe.

anyway if i like Goodyear Price and Performance and review just go for it.

why we worry about the Origin ?

anyway I am not the Fans of Goodyear but they do made Good tire

The more the troll trying to bad mouth Goodyear products, the more I will support Goodyear.

I am running on AS3 right now and I've covered 45000km on it. Noise level started to creep up but its still tolerable. Handling levels still as gd as brand new and its resistance to aquaplanning is excellent.

I am looking forward to the arrival of AS5 as my next set of tires too. I need 245/45 R18

Even the Goodyear stock is crap. Look at it! Garbage company, garbage tires.

Point noted. You can leave this thread and just post in Michelin threads. K Tnx Bye

I'm looking at the same size. Will need to replace my PZ4  by the next servicing which would have clock 50k km by then. Previously my PS4 and PSS only last me 40k km and I need to have them replace. Let us know when you found the 245/45 R18 Goodyear AS5

Wah bro....goodyear offended u badly?

I hate goodyear! Wasted money on their garbage tires. Should have gone right to Michelin. Just look at the performance tests. Once you look at facts and figures, come back and tell me if goodyear tires can match up to michelin. It simply can't.

I see. U really should have seen the performance test. Didnt do enough homework.

I dont usually look at these result cos the way they test dont reflect the way i drive. Im a slow driver. Toyo, dunlop, goodyear and bridgestone all work for me

Definitely better than the shitty goodyear tires. If you're on a budget and need "performance" tires, goodyear will be ideal.

It is precisely because I drive a performance car that I don't want to touch goodyear. goodyear is meant for people who have a limited budget, something I don't have. hahaha.

Hypersonic

Just normal impatient uncle driving normal uncle car.

Whether dry or wet, don't think my previous michelins (albeit not PS4 or what not) are any better than my AS3.

I don't avoid any particular brand other than the B&B/mid to lower tier yokohamas which i read tend to have some problem with slippage in the wet.

Michelin pilot sport cup is a street legal semi slick tire(correct me if i am wrong)

it gives you very very superb dry performance , can be use for race track (dry condition)

Street legal = provide reasonbly good in wet condition.

If you are impatient, then you are better off getting good tires for your car. Later you make a wrong move and your cheap ass tires cause you to skid. Hohohoho!

Hey if you got the cash to get something better, i see no harm in showing it off. I think this goes way more than showing off the brand you use. It is about quality. Goodyear tires are inferior to Michelin when it comes to performance. That's just the way it is. Yeah if you must know I am a show off. I started driving (a piece of shit Merc W124) to JC right after I got my license. Then I drove performance cars during my NS and Uni days.

You must try AD08R on a wet day with a RWD car then you will know how scary it can feel.
