Agreed. In fact 73k to 75k was also a good price. Wonder what the current price is

I think for basic trim already need to pay around 71k liao, so for S trim if 75k and below consider good price. Think S trim usual price should be around 77k?

$78,000 for Avante S.

Closest competitor is the Kia Cerato EX at $81,000.

Both share identical engines and gearboxes.

But the Cerato will outsell the Avante, because it resembles an Audi.

Lol u sure? LTA figures say otherwise.

Hyundai sedan sales figures almost 3 times that of kia.

Cerato backside resembles audi, avante front grille resembles audi. Sama sama one each

Maybe some savvy buyers are put off by the cerato ex which is lower spec but more pricey than an avante.

Some buyers will still go for aesthetics cause cerato is indeed more easygoing on the eyes but the way C&C does business is just a pain in the arse.

At this end of the market where bang for buck is king, I'll juz grab whichever model that has the highest spec for the price. Cerato's 2 airbags & drum brakes in 2019 is an joke

Avante buyers are like Altis buyers, they want a relatively reliable car with good enough features, easy to drive with amble space for the family... plus vfm.

Most importantly, they don't really care about how MCFers think  [smash]

Placed order on 13/7, got coe on 17/7, collecting car 26/7

Komoco deserves top spot for speedy efficiency.

Wonder if KMC had the balls to bring in large quantities of Avantes (at good discounts from Hyundai) and thus were willing to go with lower margins and secure large sales volumes. This could also explain why bros such as us9392 can get their cars within weeks of order placement and securing of their COEs.

Contrast that to C&C with their Ceratos and Stonics, with their months long wait. They order on demand from Kia?

Not about having balls but having the foresight to project the demand and knowing buyers will buy if pricing is right in this segment, together with adequate features.

When I signed, I made sure that kmc had ready stock for the colour i wanted too. The way c&c goes about with their business is kinda different and now they even brought back space star after a 2 years hiatus, gonna see how their sales fair but I've a feeling this segment is not that main priority after all.

Kmc knows that their avante can sell, so they bring in many cars to stock in their warehouse, so that buyers can get car fast once they have secured coe.

Yeah pretty sure, their i30 and above cars will have to wait longer. Though nowadays shipping/logistics tracking etc is so efficient, doesnt take that long lah.

That's why you see so many avante on the roads and majority are not phv too, at least for now.

Though I heard from my SE, they recently closed a deal for 70units for phv.

I30 is actually a good hot hatch in the cat A segment now, pricing is attractive as well.

Should move quite a number of units easily since its effectively the same downtuned engine with lower hp but same torque, a little tweak will boost it back.

PHV or not doesnt matter la since nowadays any make/model can become PHV. More importantly you like and enjoy the car you bought.

Those slow moving model usually have to wait for shipment to come de, dont think they want these cars to collect dust at the warehouse.
