Any carpark owners or operator here?? I’m flabbergasted on how some car parks still need you to manually insert cash card or tap to enter/exit. I was told by the security guard that building owner want to save cost for setting up the “radar” to detect from IU unit.

EPS technology is more costly, that's why they choose to go for manual tap or insert. Same as Sengkang Kopitiam, previously they using their own in-house kopitiam card to tap to exit causing a big jam, after they change to the cash card they never include the EPS technology, in the end the jam still exist cause everyone thought it will auto open with the cashcard in their IU.

Bros just to check

which is the defacto cash card?

1. flashpay

2. Cashcard?

has there been an attempt to have a unison practice on this?

my flashpay is auto topup but at workplace, knn, need to wind down window and place on reader at exit. Can’t deduct thru the iU. Marfan

i encounter a few places that need to place NFP at their readers. but if u using cashcard then can just keep in IU.

a bit mafan but my car only got NFP/ezlink now, cashcard expired thus didnt bother.

Yes correct

really defeats the purpose. Means those are one gen below in terms of tech

some of the gantries are hybrid and can auto topup on the fly once you exit, and if balance low on card

For donkey years I only use Cashcard..din bother abt Flashpay and only got one such card as long long time ago buy HP product Fee one..

With slow take up rate and carpark operator not adopting this.. cash card here to stay for a while.. never like the feeling of getting stuck behind a barrier..

Unless AH Gong come out with law to force operator to upgrade.. if not the inconvenience will be pass to user which is don cost a cents to operator.

Defacto is still CashCard cos some carpark operator or building owner cheapskate don't want to cough out hefty money for the full EPS system. Some is enter IU detect, exit have to insert cashcard. Some have to insert on both enter/exit. Understandably as some carpark are very small like 20 -30 lots.
