The thing about netflix is the on demand system which suits busy people like most of us.

I can complete half an episode, go do my fatherly duties and then jump back into the next half just before bedtime. :D

Even downloaded (within the app function) half a season into my HP to watch on my flight to Japan last month. Luckily I did...SIA's inflight entertainment is down in the dumps.... :D

At least netflix is a step in the right direction.

I'm one of the few people not on netflix.

Generally the people not on it, don't really like to watch tv serials.

Most people share with family members right. So it's not even $16+/month

This is no diff from ban on sales of pirated DVD/Blueray.

Content owner want $$$.

You always go JB & buy what.

Since it doesn't affect me, who cares?

I don't have starhub/singtel & Free-to-air TV.

Same here. Make no diff to me. I don't even have a TV at home.  [laugh]

I can see why this has to be done cos violation of intellectual property is quite a problem here...especially when Singapore is one of the IP hub.

U know, this is the kind of stone age mindset of telcos and companies

They wanted to ban WhatsApp last time, I remember. Makes my toes laugh

They can't innovate, and want to start banning.

I sure hope their biz will be so badly affected that they will start sacking ppl who are sleeping.

my netflix resolution super high leh.......some of the shows are even in UltraHD...just make sure you have a high speed wifi or LAN line for streaming as the resolution will be auto reduced on lousy connections.

Though must say, I am on the highest tier (only about $16++/mth...still cheap compared to blood sucking SH cable) which supports UltraHD.

Netflix4kHouseOfCardsDetail-1.jpg

completed all the seasons of House of Cards in 1.5mths :D

Problem is some 'innocent' netflix shows cannot watch with kids. Just watched popular sci-fi show blackmirror and suddenly got simulated sex. Lucky my kids not around. Guess have to go though parent ratings first before picking shows.

Thats income gone for we-know-who! Big brother pritecting their interest!

They are trying to control what we watch and where we get our information.......easier to manipulate if only from a few controlled source.

They can try to block here and there, but in reality, 1 blocked, few more will appear. Never ending story.

I really don't like pirate movies.

I cannot stand Pirates of the Caribbean

and that Peter Pan movie Hook.

I prefer more adult educational type videos.

You can create a kids profile with netflix.  I created on for my daughter  on her tab, only kiddy shows will show up.

At least you won't have some "Tokyo Bust Express" ad that keeps popping up every 10 mins or so. Then your kid will be asking you like "what's this for?" "why is it so popular?"

hahaha it's been a while since i watched proper tv.
