that was the plan - but all been cancelled oreidi….just me and wife and a couple of colleagues...now this plan will have to wait.

is like our tour of Europe, I've done the eastern part - and central as well.....only this part is missing..[laugh]

Wah siong... ha ha... I like more relaxed trips... I did one Eastern Europe conducted tour in 2008, almost died of burst bladder... so I swore never again... never be so rushed or so siong... I did my honeymoon in 32 days... UK, France & Switzerland... drive in UK, Eurostar from London to Paris, drive from Paris to Switzerland, train from Geneva to Lucerne... I always travel one direction, never double back, and fly open jaw...

I find it pale and barely visible in the night sky (looks better on photos) and thus overrated but that is me. My wife appreciated it more than me.

It depends on the solar flare intensity.

For my first day view the aurora are hardly visible but can be captured by the camera as is more sensitive than human eyes. For the next few days, the aurora intensity is high and can view clearly just with eyes with it dancing and changing shape in front of you. The only downside is having to withstand outside cold probably ~-13 -18C 🤪🥶

Yeap, if the aurora intensity is high it looks like the photo with it shape keep changing like dancing in front of you.

Almost had to travel about 2 hours near Russian border where the conditions were just right …. But freezing at -10 brrrrrrr 🥶 ….. very playful Auroras ….. lasted an hour ++ but kept on going back to bus to reset ….. they even did a bonfire with cookies and food in the middle of nowhere

same here....the private car hire took us to a few places from Norway went into Finland in search of the aurora in the wee morning...

actually i find it pretty exciting...and the driver was in constant contact with a few groups and once one of the group have spotted the aurora, they will share the location and driver will then drive is there...

in the wild and freezing temp, we had thermal suits on, our wool sweater can only last a while.....and yes, started a bonfire, and boiled some drinks and marshmallows were keeping us warm!

ohhhand yes, beautiful aurora...once in a lifetime must see before kicking the bucket..

Wow looks like I should go only when my kids are much older... that's kind of freezing temperatures and racing through the night sounds like a teenager or young adult thing...
